Wooo shaved. Way to go man! I love the look of the shaved emblem on the nose.
Car looks great. I have a question tho, why did you chose to keep the antenna?

Looks great! Now all you need is some new tires! What did they fill in the nose emblem with?

idk if they still have it, but in my (2005) book of classic industries they have an antanna that goes on the inside of the fender.. idk how well it works, and idk the price.. i could go look here in a bit.. that's just 1 idea i guess.. also hawks has shorter ones too

Re: 86 IROC paint pics
Thanks for the info... i'll check out hawks for a short little antenna, thats what I had in mind when I was getting it painted. The original long one is bent at the top ( I shut it in the door when it was off the car by accident)

Your car looks great! My 85 Z is in the body shop right now getting, like yours, shaved handles, black paint, 5" wing, but i shaved the antenna hole as well and added an ss hood. Seeing the pics of your car makes me sure I'm doing the right thing! Nice job!

Re: 86 IROC paint pics
Thanks! I was looking at an SS hood for $300 bucks pickup but the guy didn't message me back until it was too late. The wing was a total pain in the *** to make fit right and get straight, It took many hours but was well worth it in the end. I found a 8" antenna from hawks for $25 i'm gonna get that soon. Good luck with yours

Not a big fan or shaving things, but looks good if thats our show car.
The antenna I have came on the car. I think one of the previous owners put it on. Only thing even remotely aftermarket when I bought the car!

Re: 86 IROC paint pics
Too much black, i think it would look better if you broke it up with some other color. Maybe install the IROC stripes or even some mild graphics. To me, it just looks like a car painted on a budget. It is beautifully done though, just missing some accessories.

Re: 86 IROC paint pics
It was done on a budget... I am looking at some of the mirror finished Z28 embelms for the rocker panels and rear bumper, clear side markers and a 8" antenna. I am trying to keep it simple and clean.

Looks nice--treat that black well...very unforgiving colour.
And you need a new grill---I see they painted right over "Camaro"

Re: 86 IROC paint pics
i think a billet chrome grille would look pretty good. with the extended long spoiler in the back. it will give the front a really good look insted of having just the rear end will all the good looks. gotta have some up front to :P

Re: 86 IROC paint pics
A freind did the paint and body work for me. There was a dent by the gas cap. A long scrape and dent on the passenger side door. A little dent and scrape on the passenger rear quarter panel. The frame where the bumper attaches in the front was twisted a little (I ran into some one @ about 3 mph). The spoiler needed a lot of work to make it fit right also. All together i paid $1500. $400 or so for the paint, $200 for the spoiler, $150 for the shaved door handle kit and the rest for the labor. I am thinking of two little polished aluminum honey comb grill inserts for the front. I'll post some pics when I get that done. Oh yeah the paint is from NAPA (5 year warranty)

Re: 86 IROC paint pics
The car really looks nice!!! I really like your wheel choice... looks classy. I think that you should smoke the side marker lights to continue with your blacked out theme. Check out mine in my CarDomain... You will see what I mean.

Re: 86 IROC paint pics
Thanx. Those smoked side markers do look nice... Or maybe its just your whole car that looks good. I wish I new how to do interior like that! I also been thinking about the smoked headlight covers as well but would that be too much?
I got that spoiler from a member here on tgo. Project car that he ended up parting out...

Re: 86 IROC paint pics
dang, I wish I could find someone getting rid of one of those. $300 plus unkown shipping from hawks is a little rough, but time is running out on trying to find one elsewhere
