Re: best looking wheel size in your opinion?
I like the 17" wheels on my 92 RS. I'm leaning toward 18" for the 89, but that depends on the style that I go for.

Re: best looking wheel size in your opinion?
18's seem to fit these cars best, remember its all about proportion. BUT, I am putting 19's on mine if I can ever get my sheeeet together with this car. We shall see...

IMO the 18" chrome iroc mags are the way to go. That is the plan for the vert.

Re: best looking wheel size in your opinion?
I like the 18's on my car quite well, although my original plan was for 17's. I got a good deal on the wheel/tire package so I went with the 18's (plus the 18's give extra clearance for my front brakes!). Either 17's or 18's look great on our cars IMO. Despite the low profile of the tires, my car still rides great even on the HORRIBLE roads in Maine. Once I get out of this state I'll lower my car to perfect the look, but for now I live with some wheel gap so I can enjoy driving the car without ripping the undercarriage (and bumper/air dam/gfx) off it
Like everyone else said though. It's all about wheel/tire/ride height! And of course opinion

Re: best looking wheel size in your opinion?
15s on these cars is too small and look goofy. 16" in the stock wheels look good. 18s on some cars work really well, but I think they are too large for this car.
I would run 16s or 17s.

Re: best looking wheel size in your opinion?
When I do wheels I plan on going with a set of corvette Z06's. Should I go out of my way to get 17's all the way around or does the 17/18 combo not really affect the rake of the car?
I was thinking 17x8.5 front, 17x9.5 rear. Any pics of this set up or similar corvette wheel set ups would be great.
set of 4 17/18 Z06 silver for 495+shipping:

Re: best looking wheel size in your opinion?
Personally i would want and plan on getting 17" Iroc replicas. I love the look of the first style irocs. But having like drag wheels i would want 15" and no bigger... but i have to say 17 inch for the win! -Matt

Re: best looking wheel size in your opinion?
Rear - 17x11(4th gen offset) with 1.25" spacers on thirdgen style rear
Front - 17x9.5(4th gen offset) with 2" or 2.25" or 2.5" spacers(can't remember)
18s with C6 brakes look awesome also but I see too many advantages with 17s.

Re: best looking wheel size in your opinion?
It all depends on the style of wheel. I honestly think our body style probably look best with 18's all around....not to big...and not to small. they fill up the wheel gap without to much overkill. I myself have 18's in the front and 20's in the back. Do I like? Yes. Is it Overkill? At certain angles...for sure. I've seen some wheel designs...in 19's or 20's look great on our cars...it works both ways...and it depends what style or concept your looking for.
My current wheels are by far not the best style....especially for a staggered look, but it had given me and idea for my new set of wheels in the near future.

hay are those the stock c6 wheels? are you running the stock rear end or a 4th gen? i have the stock polished c6 wheels, 18x8.5 front, and 19x10 rear and im trying to determind what size tires to use in the rear.

17's tops. I just don't think the 18's have enough meat on them, and I'd rather fill up my wheel wells with rubber than metal. Little worse handling, less rotating mass.

Re: best looking wheel size in your opinion?
This looks like the right thread to ask this question. I've been checking out a lot of 18" chrome IROC repica wheels on ebay. All are new with out tires but the price varies from 500 to over 1200 bucks a set. They all look the same to me, so is there a quality difference from different brands? What brand should I avoid?

Re: best looking wheel size in your opinion?
Geno, I haven't looked into those wheels specifically, but one thing that makes a big difference in price (and quality) of aluminum wheels is whether they are cast or forged. Cast wheels will be a lot cheaper, but also a lot less strong, than a forged wheel. See if you can get the guys selling the wheels to answer whether they are cast or forged. Forged is worth paying for if you can afford it.

Re: best looking wheel size in your opinion?
I don't know any wheel/rim sizes for the 3rd gen Camaro (which I'm currently interested in), and I was wondering, can somebody tell me if any of the sizes listed on the following site for 17" rims would fit on a Camaro (without major/time-consuming/etc. modifications)?:
http://www.lakeshorewheelandtire.com...d-Chrome.shtml
The reason I'm asking is because after I get a notchback, a Fiero spoiler, and change the headlights, I want to get the car painted black (with black-tinted windows) and get two red racing stripes down the middle, and I think the red/chrome rim color combination would look nice. And if those rims don't fit, are there any other nice-looking rims that are chrome and red?

I checked out American Racings version of the IROC wheel, $715.00 a set locally, but they are on back order thru January 2008.
Chrome plated aluminum.
OE Products makes an IROC wheel too but it's $90.00 more per wheel. Barton Wheels is the seller on ebay and his wheels are chromed aluminum too. $745.00 as set shipped, from California. Not bad. So I guess I can wait until January and spent my Christmas bonus on the American Racing wheels. Better to buy from the local guy anyway.

No kidding about the roads up there. I was driving around portland getting killed. I was in a rental PT CRUISER though, so I guess I deserved it.

Re: best looking wheel size in your opinion?
Unfortunately, that will never happen. I called boyd coddington and asked around how much it would be to have the GTA crosslace wheels done in 18" and they told me they could only get "close" to the design and it would be atleast 1000 a wheel. You guys might as well stop hoping and just find some 17s or 18s you like that are in a different design. Unfortunate I know, but its the truth.

Then how do they reproduce IROC wheels? Was it a pre-existing design before GM used it?

I hope that made sense, basically the industry sees a demand for IROC repro wheels, so the supply is there. Not so with the GTA and salad shooters, despite the fact that I personally do see quite a demand for larger versions of the GTA's...but what do I know?

P.S. Yeah, I suppose there are quite a lot of dead people around in Maine. I think it's because there used to be so many little towns and farms and people had their own graveyards. I don't think there are more graves, just more separate graveyards...heh

NO LESS than 17's....c'mon guys, it's 2008.....get with it.
I have 18's on mine and LOVE them, but somedays, depending on the angle I'll admit i've thought about 19's.
the final verdict (for my car at least) will most likely be staggered 18 and 19, similar to Orr89RocZ, but with either z06 or after makets.
