LS fabricated intake
I get these in my email. Thought I would share. I have no associations with Competition Products.

Re: LS fabricated intake
Looks nice, but only needed for serious builds with a lot of hood clearance. There are quite a few variants on the market now for these style intakes.

Re: LS fabricated intake
Yeah, old thread but thought I'd put my 2cents in as well.
I just put one of these in my 85 TransAM with the stock twin fin hood and it does not clear. The IAC valve is located on the top of the throttle body and hits badly.
I tried cutting out all of the hood frame/webbing and it still didn't clear.
Ended up having to cut a hole in the hood and put a horrible hood scoop on to clear it.
Currently looking at getting a fibreglasser to custom make a double power bulge hood up for me because shipping a hood from US to Australia is about $1500-$2000 and most places don't even want to send it.

Re: LS fabricated intake
They have a short version of this intake out there. If you swapped to that it would probably fit under the stock hood. I know FITech sells the short version - probably available from other manufacturers too since one place in China makes them all.

Re: LS fabricated intake
There are now tons of similar Intake Manifolds on the Market for Gen-III/ Gen-IV Engines.
I have done an absurd amount of Dynomometer Testing with Intake Manifolds.
If you have the Hood clearance for a Holley Hi-Ram... Highest Average Power and Torque.
In you do not have the clearance... the Brian Tooley Low Intake Manifold was second in terms of Power.
