I had a question about the ASD handbrake. Does it lock when pulled up to keep the e-brake on when parked? It doesn't look like it but I figured I would ask anyway. If it doesn't how do you plan on keeping the e-brake on when parked?

It does not have a lock. I plan on leaving it in first gear and not parking it on any hills.

Hey @TJQIROC - Just a heads up check clearance on your driver side trans cooler fitting & clutch line. I had to section my trans tunnel this weekend to put a 90 degree -6 in place. Not fun, especially with the engine and trans in. Also you gotta drop the trans way down to hook up the clutch line and that fitting as well.

Thanks, Justin. I haven't dealt with that issue yet. Since my clutch slave and bleeder are on the right side, I plan on using 90s and bring them up through the tunnel somewhere under the console. If I remember, the trans cooler lines on mine are near the bottom of the trans. I will be yanking the engine out to run those lines so it shouldn't be too hard. I haven't had time to do much work but I did get that three bolt radiator support and that will work real good. I just got the Chevrolet Performance controller kit last week so I am making progress.

Lack of updates - Been busy with the little things, but I'm almost ready to go!
Tested quite a few tires, and ended up with Falken 315s on all 4 corners.
Redid a few things, including the intercooler pump and heater hoses to make it a bit more clean. Just finished up my brake lines, which I did in all stainless with a hydratek hydraboost system. Now just down to some interior wiring and hooking the radiator up and this thing should be ready to fire.
After that it's exhaust, and something sweet for the intake. And a driveshaft! And Interior!

The SS tubing is just a matter of having the right tools. I used a Rigid brand flaring tool that is meant for SS. I would say bending the stuff was much harder than flaring - Got a LOT of hours in the fuel & brake lines.

Gotcha. Last time I tried flaring SS I was in my teens and had a cheapo summit racing $10 flare tool.
When it comes time to bend up line, I might have to invest in some proper tools like you did.
What sort of line did you use for the fuel line from the tank? I plan to use hard line, but not sure what. Curious what you decided on and why.

The cheapo tools either break, or don't flare the lines straight, or at all.
Fuel lines were done in 3/8 SS, they can be purchased in coils from summit. If you thought the brake lines were hard, the fuel lines are worse! I think if I had to do it again I'd just run the newer PTFE lines that Earls makes. They don't permeate and last a long time. You can make 6 fuel systems in the time it will take you to make 1 set of hard lines.

3/8" stainless is a beach to work with. I gave up and got some nickel copper tube and it was easy and has excellent corrosion resistance too.

The car now runs. I obviously kind of neglected this post for a bit, but I think once I have it on the road I will sit down and do a full build update. Lot of changes along the way on this one, lots of steps backwards, lots of late nights and crushed hopes, but the thing is alive. We will see how she drives here very soon.

Your IG photos are wonderful. Nice job! Hopefully I didnt miss the answers to these above, but two questions -- did you make that overflow tank or is there a vendor? Also, it doesnt look like you're running a vacuum brake booster, or am I just not seeing it? How is pedal feel? Thanks!

I am running Hydratek hydroboost brakes. Pedal feel is great, however I've had some power steering issues that have developed and I'm not sure if it's being caused by the Hydroboost.

I had one custom made locally. I run a SONAX flange and it's just a steel slip shaft. It's working fine for now, but everyone says I should have gone with aluminum.

I just did a massive update on my Imgur account that has a whole lot more than just the motor swap. This has been ongoing since my last posts. (I have not stopped working on this car!) I have captions for nearly everything on there, if anyone has any specific questions on the build you can holler at me on here as I get notifications sent to my e-mail so I can come back and answer anything if necessary.
And the maiden voyage after initial completion (Car was still in beta testing ) December 2018
You don't realize how much tire is stuffed up front until you see some angle. Falken 615k+ on all the way around.
Custom Bandit sunglasses we made after the car by my company Heatwavevisual.com
Mostly completed engine compartment -Minus paint and powder.
Putting down solid numbers - A simple cam swap (Lingenfelter Gt14) some springs, a free-ish flowing exhaust and a good tune the car makes a considerable amount of power over stock. The LSA is normally rated at 556 at the crank, this package is making 622 TQ / 623 HP to the rear wheels. No added boost!
Mostly completed dual 3" to single 3.5" then to 3.5" dual with XR1 Borlas (minus turn downs)
Fully custom - Including the Y pipes.
Custom aluminum intake and rad. hold down taking shape!
And going into place.
Once this is powdered it should blend right in.
This Fluidyne intercooler replaces the Frozen boost unit, and is about double the capacity. Joey here had a much better idea for placement. Honestly with my car on jack stands for so long I had no idea how close to the ground the Frozen Boost unit would be it. It was honestly just poor planning. You can see the old mounts for the Frozen Boost still present in this photo.

I never saw a reply but I am doing the same thing but mines not running yet. I am using a custom slip spline driveshaft with a Sonnax 3 bolt adapter. I can provide more details if needed.

Both the Tick and Hawks are a rebadged Tilton. Call Tilton directly for help or custom applications.
