Ls1 swap wiring help
I almost have my swap complete in my 89 iroc, just gotta finish up a little bit of wiring, from my c 100 wiring these are all I have left to figure out where they go, anyone know what I need to connect these to? I'm using a painless harness also, thanks in advance for your help.

Re: Ls1 swap wiring help
The large PINK wire is the old ignition coil power supply (pin F4). You can use it for switched power if you want. Be aware it is not fused at the fuse panel, but instead is connected to the main 12V power supply through the key switch. If something on that large Pink wire shorts then it is going to blow one of the main fusible links and take down a lot of stuff in the car.
Hard to tell from the picture, but I think that is a TAN wire with WHITE stripe (pin G4). If so, then that is the wire that would have powered your old fuel pump. If it is just TAN (pin E5) then that is the signal wire for the oil pressure gauge.
The LIGHT GREEN wire (pin C4) is for the backup lights. The fused power source for that circuit is the DARK BLUE wire (pin B5).
The DARK GREEN wire (pin F5) is for the coolant temp gauge.
The PINK wire with BLACK stripe is probably for the old emissions control and is no longer needed.

Thanks for the reply, the tan wire doesn't have any white stripe, so where would I connect that? Also where do I connect the others? And where would I connect the fuel pump wire that's coming from my painless harness? Thanks.

Are you serious?!?! I feel like you didn't even try to understand what I said. Read my post again and put more effort into it this time.

Good.
Regarding your fuel pump wire question, it depends whether or not you need to keep the stock fuel pump relay. Does the Painless harness kit have its own fuel pump relay?

Re: Ls1 swap wiring help
Oh, I see it does have a fuel pump relay. http://www.painlessperformance.com/webcat/60508
In that case you can bypass the stock fuel pump relay and wiring. All you need to do is connect the Painless fuel pump wire to the TAN wire with WHITE stripe that goes through C100 connector, pin G4. That TAN/WHT wire runs all the way back to the fuel pump. This will work for stock-ish power levels.
If you are making a decent amount of power, or have a high capacity fuel pump, then you should run a larger wire back to the fuel pump to reduce voltage drop and increase pump performance.

Re: Ls1 swap wiring help
Ok so I have everything wired up and as far as I can tell it's all correct but when I turn the key it's the same as the battery is dead, tried a new battery and it's the same thing, is it the vats? I'm using the ecm that came with the painless harness that I thought had the vats deleted, so any suggestions on what I should do? Thanks in advance.
