Gas tank swap to my build, HELP

Guys, I know this has been gone over awhile ago, but I need more specific answers. My build is a 90 iroc, lq4 stroker going in. I just bought a $50 plastic tank out of a 2000 trans am. I am not running emissions. I do not need to run emissions. What is the electrical connection attached to the charcoal canister? Can i eliminate this? Do i just need the run the ls1 fuel pump? what connections do i NEED to keep? understand that I have 0 wiring in my car, 0 fuel lines. This is a complete rebuild with new stuff. And I hear they "fit right in with the straps" but it didnt, it has about a 2" gap between the strap and bolt, which is fine, taking care of it. Looking for some direct easy answers. I know about the metal to plastic lines, no biggie. More interested in what MUST be attached and what can go completely for no emissions. THANKS!

The fuel tank absolutely will fit up there with the stock straps. If the straps don't pull in when you tighten down the bolts then you've not installed it right

The only thing you need to connect is B+ and ground for the fuel pump, and the two wires for fuel gauge. Whether you keep the mess of 4th gen sub-harness is up to you. I wired my fuel pump in this way. Same principle applies if you use an LS1 PCM.

It absolutely does install with the metal straps. I did it by myself, it was a PITA, but I got it. Ratchet straps were a help for me, acted like a second set of hands.
