Hawks ls conversion kit
sorry in advance if posted this in the wrong section, but i was curious if anybody ever used hawks ls conversion kit. im in the middle of getting the swap done. i picked up a 5.3 with only 96000 miles on it with all the truck accessories. i was wondering if the conversion kit covers all the stuff that i need, or will i still need to get the front accessories from a 4th or 5th gen camaro.

Re: Hawks ls conversion kit
You can use the truck accessories or a fbody ..its your choice. The hawks conversion kit takes the guess work out of mounting the motor/trans..and exhaust if you want longtube headers for your swap.
Im using their mounts for my motor/trans and upgraded to the poly mount inserts.Havent had an issue with their products and Im on my 3rd ls motor reusing the same parts.
The front accy drive requires more planning on your end.You must understand that the truck belt system sits more forward, the location of the water pump outlets are different than the fbody, alternator is differentt location etc.The fbody setup is in my opinion an easier option and the only issue was that you need to slightly bend the power steering line on an angle to thread it into the pump itself.
Read some of the stickies and swap on here and you will see what guys have done in either case to make things work, its not hard..just time consuming figuring out what will work best for what you have..within your budget ofcourse.

The fun you are going to have! Kits are great but modifications will be needed no matter who's stuff you use.
