need help with fuel sender to make fuel guage work on ls1 swap
Hey guys, I started my ls1 swap into my 89 formula350 last week. Me and my dad decided to start with the fuel tank and pump first before moving up to the engine. Im using the 98 camaro ls1 fuel tank and fuel pump assembly that came with my donor car. We already made all the neccessary modifications to the tank and wiring harness. In our research for a fuel sender we came across people using a fuel sender with the part number 25319676 so i went ahead and ordered the part. Today we put the fuel pump assembly together and decided to hook it up and make sure the guage is working right before we put it in the tank. After hooking it up and turning the car on we found that the guage is working but backwards, it shows empty when its suppose to be full and visa versa. we found that the sender is backwards and were gnna need another one. Does anyone know of a 0-90 ohm fuel sender to use with the 98 Camaro ls1 fuel pump assembly?

There are a few threads that can help you find a nice solution to this if your willing to try. There are different senders from other gm cars that will work correctly for very lil money..or wiring in resistors to work aswell. Do a search on this section of the forums for 0-90ohm and that should get the ball rolling.

I think I swapped either the pins in the tank for the sender, or I flipped the arm around so it pointed the opposite way in the tank to read properly. Either should work since it is still 0-90 ohm just swings the opposite way

Check the sending unit, should be 90 Ohm when full (float up) and 0 when empty. I wonder if you have something hooked up backwards.

I tried flipping the pins and that didn't work. I did flip the float around so it would read right so I guess ill have to deal with it like that for now

The wiring is good my dad checked his work twice, we even hooked it up backwards and it still reads the same. In the little more of research we did we think the fuel level sender I have is ment to be used with the plastic tanks and fuel pump senders which is not what I'm using

From what I understand (with no first-hand knowledge), it's the V6 sender that is 0-90.
