what parts do i need from my donor car
Hey everyone, i am relatively new on here. I am preparing to do my ls1 swap from my 2000 z28 to my 1992 z28. I have already taken out the engine and trans. I took out the ecm and the under hood wire harness. I plan on pulling the front and rear brakes from it. Do i need the harness from inside the car where the ALDL is ? I have been reading about keeping my cruise control and a/c. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. Also, both cars are auto, but i am putting in a manual six speed, I ordered a trans, pedals, and hydraulics a few days ago.

If you have a place to keep it, the by all means keep it handy until done.
You will want all kinds of small clips, screws, wires etc.
Having another car around is a huge timesaver.

take the resevoirs aswell, they have a much cleaner look. Take the rear end and driveshaft aswell, I beleive the driveshaft might be a little thicker than the one on our thirdgens. And I would also consider taking the spindles also, might require alittle notching on your strut mount but well worth it. Heck if your a wiring guru, id take the dash and council also.
Good Luck!

Re: what parts do i need from my donor car
thanks, i like that idea of the reservoirs, i never considered that until now. As far as the rear, i am getting an S60 for my car. Plus with the Ronal wheels i have, the 4th gen is too wide. I didn't know i could use the spindles, but again with my Ronal wheels, i need to check on the spacing. I'm not a fan of switching the dash or console as i prefer the originals, but good ideas and thanks again.

Yeah spindles are of no use, the front brake calipers, rotors and carriers however are a good idea as you can modify your spindles or have them modified and buy bolt on brackets to use them.
The fans are a good idea, some have actually used the entire radiator, depends how good you are with getting things to fit and how good of a fit you want.
Other than that really just the engine/trans and all wiring. Seats could be used, but thats not swap related.

Really? Ive seen a few corvette spindle swaps on here and they just needed a little notching for clearance, unless the clearance is not the fabrication your refering too. Never personally dont the spindle swap so im curious.

No, you havent, I dont know how you've managed to think that you have, but the suspensions are two completely different designs, corvette 4th gen, neither will come anywhere close to working without heavy modification.
