lsx swap headers

just trying to see if anyone has found ls swap headers that work other than the very high price hawks pieces. the answer i have found around so far is these are the only game in town for long tubes.

i currently have hawks 1 5/8 ls swap long tubes. i think they are way to small for my 408 motor.

looking for a set of 1 7/8 or even 2 inch that will fit right up or close.

if someone has a set of hawks they are looking to get ride of even 1 3/4 i may be interested.

Had a friend run the 1 3/4 mid lengths on a nitrous 408. Went 8s at 4000 pounds. Was allot of nitrous.

Re: lsx swap headers

i'm running the mids with my 6.0l and love them. price was great, i actually worked with the western marketing manager from husler during my purchase with brp.

the fit and finish is great, they have had 2k miles put on them and still shine nice. i would recommend the mids to anyone.

Re: lsx swap headers

Those are really a nice alternative to needing something that will produce power but not give every bit you need for a 6.0 or smaller.

Re: lsx swap headers

talked with brp today. very nice guys. they tell me that the headers wont fit with my current motor mounts. they only work with their mounts. he did say there is a chance they will fit but he cant say for sure since he cant return them if they dont.

everyone agrees for a drag race 408 i need 1 7/8 long tubes. he guessed my engine gave up around 6k he was close with the 1 5/8 headers its done around 5800. i have a huge cam that should pull to atleast 6800 its rated to 7200.

now the question is do i buy their headers and swap mounts and do it that way 700+500 is 1200.00 this would include a trans crossmember. he is checking to see if his t56 crossmember with an adapter will work with turbo 400.

or do i just bite the bullet and buy the hawks ones for 1050 plus big shipping. and then get a th400 mount somewhere for my swap.

Re: lsx swap headers

I would buy their 2" if I was you and if the mounts do not work, make them. Make your own Trans cross member.
