Husler headers..mids or longtube?
So Im header shopping and doing my homework before I bite the bullet in a few weeks to redo my full exhaust.Ive had my eye on the Husler mids 1 7/8 and they look great and price seems reasonable.Based on the few of you that already have them and like the quality I may go this route.
My question is does anyone have the full longtube versions with the flat collector?Im wondering if the flat collector will rob me of power and fitment will be an issue.
I plan on throwing nitrous and maybe supercharged 6-8psi next yr.Would it be better to get 2inch primaries or for now just get the 1 7/8 mids and full 3 inch back?

I'd run the hawks 1 7/8" although they don't have 3.5" collectors, buddy is running low 9s on a flat collector on spray in a gen 1 combo, so not sure it matters much. I just build my own in the size I need. Unless you're running bigger boost or spray not sure I'd go 2" primary.

If you're serious about a supercharger or spray, stick with the Stainless works/Hawk's third gen LS swap long tube. They offer the BEST clearance and fitment out of the few swap headers available.
You're other options are...are you serious about a Supercharger? I say this because those LQ4/9 motors LOVE boost, and instead of a superccharger, have you thought about piecing together a turbo setup? If you turbo the car, you can grab stock 6.0L Manifolds and bolt them on backwards and use them as your turbo manifold. It'll be a lot cheaper then buying headers and if you can or know someone who can weld/fabricate your own exhaust piping from the manifolds to the turbo and out the back, you're golden.

yeah these motor take to boost extremely well.i do have a good builder/fabricator but i got a good hardon for superchargers lol.i know turbo would net me more gains and probably less money.but that wont be till next yr if i can afford to upgrade.

Dont bother with the Hussler headers. Despite the very few who can utilize them they way they're supposed to be, they cover up a lot of things and make it impossible for you to work on certain things under the car once they're on (full long tube version).

I dont know about the long tubes, but the mid lengths are very well built and much more reasonable in price than either long tube option. I'm satisfied with my mids, would buy again.

I do like the mids from what Ive seen on here.Fit and finish looks like a quality piece.I just dont want to sell myself short if Im going to redo my exhaust again I want to get the most out of it for my buck and not look back.
Im hoping someone has tried the Husler longtubes that can give some insight.

Still torn lol. I think the 1 7/8 or 2' mids and a good Y pipe might be my end result for a decent exhaust setup. The hawks headers are just way out my price range. For the cost of their headers alone I can spend that on doing the mids with a ypipe installed :S

Re: Husler headers..mids or longtube?
the only mids i'm aware of are 1 3/4" with a 3" collector. they come with gaskets, mounting hardware, 2.5" reducers and the o2 bungs in the box. to me 10-15hp/tq(if that) at the top end, isn't worth the added cost.

Yes you are correct.I got mixed up with the lt's.I got a good month to save and make a decision on either mids or longtube.Ground clearance is still a major concern as roads here are brutal.
