Pully Alignment tricks
I need a cheap or free way to check my pully alignment. I am relocating my alt. And I want to make sure its strait so I don't have to fight it throwing belts. Any tips or tricks?

Well I don't think that is going to work much better than just having the belt on it and eyeballin it.

I agree with the straight edge if it is "true"(straight) how do you know that the belt is not shifted forward and aft slightly other than eyeball?
A small laser light will work if you can mount it parallel to your reference pulley.

Straight edge too.
Place it across the the crank pulley. Flat against the front of the pulley surface, with the end of your straight edge extending to the other pulley of concern. Confirm distance to the center rib of each pulley is the same distance.
Can check each pulley individually against the to/from pulley that the belt path travels.
