L98 to LS3 w/ 700r4 rebuild question
1989 Iroc-Z 350
I want to drop in a GM crate LS3 w/hotcam 480hp. Going to stick with the 700r4 and have a performance rebuild done to it. What other modifications would be required to make this setup reliable? Thanks

if you're going through the time and money on a performance rebuild, you'd be much better off switching to a 4l60e (or even better, 4l80e). lots of tuning can be done for the trans and a junk one can be had for very short money

I have to agree. While you might be able to make the TH700 "work", you won't end up with a better tranny than you would if you started with a 4L60E or 4L80E.
