LS1/T56 in 92 Z28,need help
Hi there im new here and i want to swap LS1 and T56 in my 92 Camaro,so here is the story i found a great great deal on 2001 Z28 it has 243 stage 2 heads,Torquer 2 heads, pistons and alot of good stuff and its just been refreshed so i want to swap the LS1 and the T56 from it and put them on my 92 and Im wondering will i face big problems with this swap? I've seen other topics about the swaps and I kmow i will need engine mount plates and crossmember for the T56 and i will convert it to carburetor so I need MSD6010 with wiring harness for the coils and I already got victor jr intake and 750 Holley street HP carb now what about the headers? Holes for master cylinder and slave cylinder? Can i use the original driveshaft or do i have to cut it short or weld it long?

That LS1 sounds like it could be a strong runner, and being a 2001 is most likely has the desirable LS6 intake manifold.
Big problems with the swap? Not really, its been done a bunch by many people. Any problem you come across has most likely been encountered and solved by others.
Headers? Big bucks unfortunately, Hawks Stainless headers are the only ones out there and run $800+.
Master Cylinder for clutch? The best solution is a Tick Performance master, or fab up a bracket and make your own like I did. Check out my swap thread for pics. The slave is already on the transmission and uses a quick disconnect fitting.
Driveshaft? If you're running a TH350, you'll need a longer driveshaft. A stock 4th Gen driveshaft will work, but it won't live with the kind of power that LS1 will make. Nor will a stock 3rd/4th Gen rearend.
Look over build threads, and spend some quality time with the swap sticky at the top of the forum.
Also, I'd really consider leaving the fuel injection, its simple and reliable, and it makes for great driveability. Its easily one of the main benefits of the LS swap IMO.

I think i will just custom the headers here and about the driveshaft with TH350 im still using the stock driveshaft because im using a TH350 with long tailshaft and BTW that 2001 z28 made 427whp and 415tq and i just bought Magic Stick 3 to replace the torquer 2

Who assembled the engine? A competent and reputable shop, or a do-it-yourselfer with no clue?
Assuming it's been assembled properly, I'd go with the factory fuel injection rather than carb.

It's a shame to put a carb on an LSx engine. Unless you are going full on drag car. If you want it on the street. leave it fuel injected.
