LS1 head swap in the car
well I couldn't find the answer if this was possible with a/c. since im plain tired of pulling the drive line out I decided I would just find out myself. what I found was the a/c box needed the 10mm head fire wall screws removed. two inside for those who do not know
the box does not have to be removed but only moved towards the fender slightly.
then after cleaning and chasing the threads ( in my case I used studs on the new heads) I installed the bottom stud nearest the firewall. installed the head and screwed in the rest of the studs.
Im sure I could have installed all the studs before placing the head on the block but I was concerned with that bottom stud.
had I used head bolts I may have had to remove the a/c box or pulled on it to gain the needed room
as for the drivers side.. well there is a ton of room and there was zero issues
