2010 Camaro headers showed up today

Overall Im impressed. Primaries are 1.75", collectors 2.5". Flanges are 3/8" but are cast for some reason. Whoever does the welding has gotten very good at it. It's obviously TIG'd and the patterns are very nice/tight/complete. O2 bungs came with caps, there is some scrap hanging in the collector but some needle nosed pilers yanked it out. The flange ovaling Id read about on the 5th gen forums wasnt nearly as apparent as I was led to believe. Overall, Id consider them a high quality set of headers, just looking at them




Moving onto the engine. The install kit was puzzling. It doesnt include bolts, but header studs/nuts instead. Its been a while since Id seen those. The graphite gaskets included appear high quality, but Ill run the stock MLS until I get a leak. All the flange holes lined up perfectly and none of the bolts bound up during the install which is better QC than the OEM manifolds had. The stock Fbody starter will clear by a mile, GTO solenoid will hit. Truck starters are even smaller so they will clear without a doubt. All 8 plugs have tons of clearance. No worries of melting a boot with these


Moving around back. The collectors are pointed strait back like most 3rd gen headers. 4th gen headers are a no-go because they kick out to the sides away from the engine and right into the frame. These should fit. The strange extensions welded onto the collectors most likely will have to be cut off. Its not a big deal to me


Now Im waiting for the rain to go away so I can do a test fit

They appear to be a little over an inch higher than the truck pan's lowest point. Im sure they're lower than hawks, but probably about the same height as SBC hooker 2210's. Ill have to get them in the car to gauge for sure, assuming they clear the frame and A-arm mounts

Those look really nice and clean. So, just for clarity, these are SSR headers?

those are 2010 camaro headers.

the ones in the first post are ebay headers from the ssr, which are a little different. i still haven't gotten an answer from the seller on ebay how low they hang though, so no info on them yet.

Wow, those hang way too low IMO. They might fit the car but from experience I wouldn't want a set to hang as low as my 2210s. I can literally look across the tops of the collectors they hang so low. I hope something can be found tho...

Wow...they look low. Otherwise they look ok. Im also worried that they arent tucked into the motor enough. There is very little room between the motor and the chassis for the heads, so even being off by an inch would cause them to be very tight.

I hope they fit though!! While its too late for me it will certainly help other swappers big time!

Fbody oil pan came in so I stuck it on and leveled up the engine

Compared to the deepest point on the pan to the lowest point on the headers. Its actually the primaries on the outside about 2" before the collectors

Drivers side 1.5" below pan
Pass side 1.75" below pan

They're lower than hawks for sure, but not entirely out of the question. Fitment questions are for the frame rails and A-arm rear mounts. My minimum acceptable height is the lowest point on the rocker ground effects. Ive never drug them on the street, so if the headers are inline or above them, they will stay on the car. The next step is to put them up in the car but its a soggy mess right now. No way Im crawling under the car for hours on end in this mess

FWIW, these arent pacesetters. They're Chinese knock-offs of 2010 camaro Hooker LTs. There are a few sellers hocking the same design for different prices, all list a large qty on hand, so there should be plenty to go around to both the penny pinching 2010 owners and small group of 3rd gen swappers

Do you have a side pic of the headers on with the lowest point of the header? Would like to see that 1.5"-1.75" that hangs below the fbody oil pan

Since I had the Fbody pan on I decided to try a fit

This is how tight the stock K-member goes to the Fbody pan


The headers hit the A-arm pockets about 2" from being that tight. I may be able to grind K-member clear but it's doubtful. Thats alot of metal

Jon is it possible to cut and box the K member for fitment of the headers? i see that being a somewhat easy task for those with mig welders..

I can cut it out no problem. Just dont know if itll get into the A-arm real-estate. Ill make a final decision soon

For the record, these are hooker knock-offs, the other thread which showed the drivers side fully installed were pacesetters. Maybe that has something to do with it

does anyone make swap longtubes for G body cars? I had some 1.625" headman longtubes for my 79 malibu, and they are almost identical to hooker 2210's.

If they fit like the pacesetter 2010 camaro longtubes, then they will hang down too low. I tried some of them a while back. They bolted up just fine, with tons of room...but they hung down way too low. For my needs anyway.

These headers are out for a simple cost-effective exhaust system for a swap. Mods required are more than an average swapper would be willing to do

Heres the drivers side notched for the header. All clearance issues are at the rear most A-arm pocket


Took about an inch of pocket off, then the extra V. Still need some more for ample clearance


#5 is up inside of the A-arm mount. Cant trim this out, the tube has to move


Option would be to chop the flange off at the cyl head, angle it in a few degrees and reweld clearing the A-arm. The problem is the mount gets in the way. Im planning custom solid mounts that are a bit lower profile than these but clearance is tight. Plenty of room to swing in from the bellhousing area though. Frame clearance should be ok too. The biggest issue is to clear the A-arm pocket as the suspension points cannot be changed without extensive surgery


Pass side, light contact with the K-member, a dent in the K or tubular will clear no problem

Still pretty close to the mount. The starter begins to get in the way sooner so less angle can be had cutting the flange off and tweaking it


Oh well. I guess these will hang on the wall until my next swap

What a bummer.

On a side note, my stainless works headers have started leaking between the flange and pipe on the driver side, i really dont know what to do, never thought this would happen, matter of fact, i have never had cheap headers do it, so it is disappointing.
