Lt1 ECM swap

can a 97 LT1 ecm run a 95 LT1? main reason I ask is because I know the later LT1's had a crank sensor, and the early one's didn't. how is the cran sensor on an LT1 setup? is it reluctor wheel that fits over the end of the crank? or is it something else entirely?

Re: Lt1 ECM swap

in short, No.

The OBD2 computers used the crank sensor and 2 extra O2 sensors. Not only will the engine not run with the 97 computer, there were different pin-outs for the OBD2 computers. The 97 had a differnt timing cover for the crank sensor to read the reluctor wheel on the crank. You would spend more money trying to get it to work than you would with a 95 ECM

Thought it would be something like that, which is fine, I thought I has a late model ECM, but it turns out its an earlier one.
