LS swap and 3rd gen heater core question

Does anyone know if it is OK to block off the return hose on the water pump for the heater core? I will be undertaking this swap in the near future but I am going to be running the BeCool radiator for the 3rd gen with the return for the heating system. I dont think it will be too hard to hook everything up if I can block off the return for the LS water pump, otherwise I cant figure out how to get it to work properly without capping my return on the radiator. I am going to use a 3rd gen (or equivalent) heater bypass setup so I will get cold air when I use the AC.

cap the return on the radiator, the water pump flow is made for both hoses to be ran into it. Otherwise people loop those ends if they delete the heater core.

Re: LS swap and 3rd gen heater core question

That wont solve my problem. I want to be able to daily drive the car so i am going to want to make the defrost work, but I also want the AC to work. It is counter productive to have hot coolant to flow through the heater core constantly, if the AC would even be able to blow cold air that way at all.

**EDIT** unless you meant return to the pump rather than the radiator like I would have?

yes i said the send and return are both located on the water pump, don't use the fitting on your radiator.

I saw that too, thanks but I dont see how that can possibly work correctly unless there is more to it than the pictures show.

Yeah, thanks. I wasnt thinking about that properly when you mentioned it. I think that will work then, I just have to figure out how to cap that spot, or I can use it to return the steam tube.

I just saw ghettocruisers bypass on LS1tech, I dont know how I missed it but I think that is a good way to do it. For some reason I only thought there were 3 ports on the valve that he got
