5.3 to ls2 86 camaro
Car started its life as a 2.8 sadly that didnt last too long. went to a carb'd 305 now to a newer ls motor. stock shortblock 5.3 with 243 heads, ls6 cam, and a weiand intake with a precision t67 on 9lbs. stock tranny 3600 converter. FORD 8.8 WITH 3.55's with 02 trans am rear brakes. decided to go ahead with the 4th gen interior swap dash and console fit great! plans are to do the door pannels one day. complete spohn suspension k-member, coilovers, a-arms, lower control arms, torque arm, panhard bar, etc.
on 9lbs with 16* of timing made
well all the bs of turbo crap ticked me off one day and decided to go n/a. sold all my stuff and bought a fast 90/90, 224/228 cam, and shaved the 243's .030. also bought a rossler stage 3 4l60e(best investment EVER) the car now sits with 352/345 at the tires. and have a nitrous outlet plate kit on the way.

Awesome. Are you okay with the NA performance?
How far along are you with the 4th gen dash?

Re: H/C/I 5.3 86 camaro
Man, i have the NA 6.0 with stock 317s and a Trex that i love to drive but the other 90 i just got will be a single turbo 5.3 or 6.o, 460 with a 5.3 is not bad, i dont think i would have went N/A with it.

Re: H/C/I 5.3 86 camaro
That will work, i am going on the budget really deep on the 90, so a cheap turbo that is small is gonna fly will i gte a bigger one, seems near impossible to get a good head unit that is worth a crap to supercharge the damn thing.

Re: H/C/I 5.3 86 camaro
Very cool man, mine's been down for a year and a half and I just need to finish the exhaust, get shocks/struts, and get the 4th gen dash so I can get a functional speedometer. Maybe when we get our cars back together we could meet up at Holt one night when they have test and tune.

oil pan and rear cover are bolted on and sealed up. heads are just sitting on the block waiting for head gaskets.

Looks great! I am looking at a Ls1 swap for my formula soon. So I take it the LsX series are that awesome huh... New front end looks good. When do you plan on getting it painted? Love the sleeper look!
