I threw a set of them on my 4th gen wheels this year. Never made it to the track with them, but it is a whole new world of hook on the street compared to the ZR rated tires.
It will be interesting to see how the 17's compare to the 15's you were running earlier. Keep us updated.

Re: 5.3 to ls2 86 camaro
I hate to bring up an old thread... but I bought this car a few months ago. Its still in south Alabama, and stumbled upon this thread. Its seen better days, but still runs like a scalded ape. took it to the track last weekend for the first time and ran a best 7.00 at 95mph 1/8th mile in the heat, it could have gone faster when the June sun went away, but tried running a 7.50 index. I was pleasantly surprised with the 1.46 60ft times.
The paint didn't hold up too well, and the interior has suffered.
The wiring is a nightmare, I'm sure its not from the OP, but I'm planning on re-wiring the entire car.
My plan is to index and bracket race this car, as far as I can tell it still has the same setup as the OP last posted. LS2 4l60 8.8" with 3.73 gear.

I will do my best, I have never been a Forum person, lol
Talked to a place here yesterday about tuning it, this is my first LS motor, it has a AFR gauge and it is running about 23:1 at idle, WOT is about 13:1.

Re: 5.3 to ls2 86 camaro
Question for the guys that know anything more than me (most everyone)
So I bought this car, the tune in it is rough. 23:1 AFR at idle, and will barely run. WOT it runs smooth and rips like crazy.
Can I buy one of these Diablo i3 deals and correct this or should I spend the 550$ and take it to the Dyno shop?
also, i removed the A/C as I plan to stickily Drag race this car, will it hurt anything to loop off the Heater core?
TIA

Re: 5.3 to ls2 86 camaro
You must keep the flow going through the water pump heater inlet and outlet. A bypass hose will do the trick,

Highly suggest getting a professional tune if you're not going to learn yourself. If you do want to learn to tune then you're going to need something very flexible like HP Tuner and a laptop. It's expensive either way.

Hey hey! I don’t mean to hijack an old thread. (See what I did there?)
I have purchased this car from member Zooooomm and it’s a piece of garbage! I mean, not really but it’s seen better days. Same setup he had except the diff is in a bunch of pieces. 😁 New spool has been ordered. Can’t wait to send this death trap of a car down the track! If all else fails, I’ll pull the motor and scrap the rest. Cheers! Toodaloo!
