FS: 1984 Camaro with LSx swap *UPDATE*
I hate doing this but I have to sell my Camaro. I'll be going back to school in the fall and I need the money and a reliable car. I had intentions of keeping this car forever, but I gotta do what I gotta do. It's still a project right now, but it's 98% done. The main problem with it right now is that it won't shift out of first gear. It could be the governor or something with the valve body. Basically I'm out of time, money, and a garage to work on it in. It will need a paint job too. Other than that everything is pretty much new. Here's a list of the mods
Drivetrain
---------
2000 5.3l with approx. 90,000 miles
862 heads with PAC 1218 springs (have an extra set of 5.3 heads that can be milled for me compression)
TSP 224r cam (224/224 .581/.581 112lsa)
LS1 front accessories
New timing set from Yank
Edelbrock Victor Jr intake
MSD 6010
Proform 750 DP
Holley blue pump with Aeromotive regulator
Stainless Works 2.5" collector longtubes
2.5" H-pipe with dual Spiralflows
Optima Red Top
Painless fan switch
Griffin aluminum radiator
Electric fan from a V6 Camaro
Aluminum driveshaft
Th350 with this rebuild kithttp://www.700r4l60e.com/store/produ...&cat=21&page=1
3600 stall
Derale deep trans pan
Royal Purple oil
Interior
----------
Autometer Speedo
Autometer Tach
Autometer Fuel Pressure
Autometer Trans Temp
Autometer Water Temp
Autometer Fuel Level
Autometer Volts
Autometer Wideband
Autometer Oil Pressure
B&M Megashifter
LT1 leather seats
Exterior
----------
91-92 GFX
Big Block Stinger hood
Clear side turn signals
Smoked tail lights
17x9/17x11 Gran Sports
Good T-Tops
New window sweeps
Suspension/Brakes
----------------------
LS1 front brakes/LT1 rear brakes
Braided stainless brake lines
All new hard brake lines
LS1 3.23 rear
Jegster tunnel mount torque arm
Spohn LCA's
Spohn LCA relo's
Spohn SFC
Spohn Wonderbar
Spohn Adjustable Panhard
Hawk's double hump trans crossmember
34mm/24mm sway bars. Rear has new endlinks and bushings, front has new endlinks
New ball joints
New outer tie rods
Dropzone lowering springs. I also have new Moog 5662 springs that come with the car
Kyb GR2 struts and shocks
I have AT LEAST $8000 invested in this car. I'm only looking to get about $3000 out of it. I'm very, very negotiable though. Someone could buy this car, part it out, and make a crap ton of money. I would part it out, but I don't have the time or space to do it. Or it could be made drivable with just a little more work. Since it's not drivable, it'll have to be towed. If needed I can have it towed pretty much anywhere in St. Louis area for no charge. I would love to keep this car, but basically it has become too much of a money and time pit. I just need out from under it. So, $3000 but I'm very, very negotiable.
**UPDATE**
There's a member of this forum that lives close to me that would be willing to let me borrow some space to part this car out. That being the case, I'm pretty firm on $3000 now since I would make a ton more money parting it out.

Good thing it's so far away, otherwise I might have done something that would get me into trouble.

Awesome deal. At that price I wouldn't expect that car to stay on the market more than a couple days.

Re: FS: 1984 Camaro with LSx swap *UPDATE*
$3000 is a great deal for whoever gets this car. Just adding up the receipts I can find for this car puts me at over $8000 invested. That doesn't include everything I've bought because I don't have receipts from Paypal or eBay. I have a feeling this car won't be on the market for more than a week or so.
I hate to sell it, but I've made my peace with it and I'm prepared for it to go. It sucks a lot but I'm just not in the position financially to keep it at this point.

It always kills me when people part out perfectly good cars. They make more money sure, but that's another thirdgen body that ultimately ends up at the scrap yard.

I understand the whole argument about parting vs. selling as a whole. That's why someone should buy my car as a whole so I don't have to part it

SOLD! I hate to see it go, but I'm glad to have the money. It's not going to be parted out either, so it will live on

Re: FS: 1984 Camaro with LSx swap *UPDATE*
Well when a car is still in good shape with a perfectly usable body, it should be kept whole in my mind. Now if they are wrecked and beyond reasonable repair then sure, part the sucker out. In this case you clearly put a lot of work into it and having to dismantle the car and sell it just seems like a shame to me. So I'm glad she was sold whole.
