Presets only. Interesting. Bummer you went through the extra work when it wasn't necessary.
Ditto on the hard lines. A lot less floppy stuff to have to deal with when you're putting the tank back in.

LOL...my brother basically had to destroy his dipstick to get it out. They have an O-ring that seals them in there but should just pull out. "SHOULD" pull out. I would keep wiggling it and pulling at it and you may be able to free it up. And progress is looking good!

Sorry if you've gone over this before, but what are the details on the headlights? Real projectors/HIDs? I'm wanting to do retro HIDs on my car soon.
Sorry for the hijack, I just never noticed them before.

Love the car been looking at your thread for a while now and jus bought a white 91 rs. Just when I thought it was ok the way it was you inspired me to rip it apart again (I was afraid to paint myself but hey if you can do it I can atleast try)

Long time eh? LOL, I think my build is the definition of a long time. 4 Years in the making now hahaha. I guess you can't put a timeframe on good work though....but I'm sure you know that as well since you've been putting some TLC into yours! Love the headlights on your car as well. Gives it such a mean and modern look. Ever since I saw spikeZ's car with those headlights and the white paint, I thought it was an awesome combo!

Re: Blakes LSx swap - pic/vid heavy
The rubber filler hose does need to be shortened. By how much...its hard to say, and I wouldnt go by a set number. Its somewhere in the ballpark of an inch to an inch-and-a-half. But, what I would do/did, is remove the rubber filler with the tank in place. Then mount your filler spout. Then measure what length you need the hose to be. Err on the side of long...you can always take more rubber off. If you go too short, you'll be buying a new one.

I did what ghettocruiser said as well. You can mount the filler neck with the tank in place and it's not too bad. Thats how I did it. Just trim about an inch of rubber to start off, and work on it from there. Pretty sure I ended up trimming about an inch and 3/4 when I had it where I liked it.

I'm pretty sure those are just coil covers. So you would still use your stock valve covers.

They have fancier ones and ebay has a big selection as well. My brother bought a real nice one with a trans am bird engraved in it but I can't for the life of me find it. They had other styles as well like "Z28" or a chevy emblem.

Hey. Not sure if you got it figured out or not yet, but I recently bought the GM fuel level sending unit kit for the 97 grand prix. I know it comes with 2 sending units and I obviously only need one. You said it was out of your budget for the kit, but I'll sell you the second one for $70 shipped if you want it. I have a for sale thread up as well. PM me if you want it.

Re: Blakes LSx swap - pic/vid heavy
I already installed the 0-30 ohm unit and programed the gauge. Have not tested it yet though... btw... I have the 97 grand prix unit as well, don't know how it came out to be 0-30 ohm.
I may the fuel pump back out though (still going back n fourth in my head about the turbo)... then I need diff injectors and dual pump + a few things I cannot think of right now.

loving the thread, and the helpful amount of pics. i may just be simple minded, but I hate write ups with little to no pics of all, or in most cases none.

Do you have any pics of how those motor mounts fit on the motor? I have something similar but they are the doug's headers mount plates and they are kickin my butt!

LOL, you had me scared for a minute there! Seems like it's going to be an even more bad *** build now. And those headers look nice. Even the cheaper knockoff headers ussually hold up pretty well. Hopefully they fit in the bay nicely, since I think the SSW ones are designed for a 4th gen. Let me know how they fit. I may be interested as well if they do!
