LSX motor mounts ??
currentl have a LQ4 sitting on a stand waiting to go in my camaro(91), i have the spohn swap mounts but do not LS1 engine side mounts.... my question is do i buy the factory style LS1 engine mounts for about $150? or do i use soemthing like these:
http://www.jegs.com/i/Trans%20Dapt/9...0002/-1?CT=999
http://www.jcwhitney.com/performance...41&zmap=532877
i see that most mounts relocate the motor back 1"..... should i be looking to do this or no?
i am using custom forward facing manifolds for a turbo setup.... and also moving radiator forward about 2 inches.
any help would be great as id like to get the motor sitting where it needs to be to get going on the mock-up and start fabbing.
thanks!!

Re: LSX motor mounts ??
My understanding is that those plate style adapters will put the motor in the same spot as the Spohn mounts (unless there are plate style ones specifically designed to push the motor back more). The issue with those is that they occupy the same space on the passenger side as the a/c compressor, so you won't be able to keep the 4th gen style a/c compressor if you go with those mounts.
Those plate style also use the stock SBC mounts, where Spohn's mounts require you to have/buy a set of the 4th gen clamshell mounts.
A third option is the BRP mounts... I like these best, though they seem to be overpriced. They clear the f-body a/c and also don't require the use of the 4th gen clamshells, but they cost so damn much, that you could buy the Spohns and a new set of clamshells for less money.
If you've got the fabrication skills that you're likely to need in order to make all of the custom turbo plumbing, I'm willing to bet you could make your own mounts pretty easily. I'm hoping to make a set similar to the BRP style.

If you have the spohn kmember setup for ls1 motors, then I have a spare set of the engine side mounts. Last set I sold for $40 on ls1tech, if you'd like a set shoot me a PM and I'll dig out the box. It fits in the medium flat rate box thru USPS so shipping would be $10.20, and I have paypal.

if you have the spohn mounts that bolt to the k member, you just need the lsi motor mounts off the stock ls1 vehicle. if your motor had mounts still on it they should be fine i think. you won't need the adapter plates you linked to though, those are fro leaving the original thirdgen smallblock mounts on the k-member.
