Whats the LT1 market like?

I guess I have to start by saying I'm sorry. I destroyed a future classic...my 2006 GTO is no more. Somehow I'm alive. Quick Story, hydroplaned on 495 in deleware, after about the third oscillation, lost traction on the front, and headed for the guard rail.
Well, I'm alive, and mostly intact, no broken bones, etc. So I've got a lot of thinking to do. One possibility is maybe buy the hulk back from the insurance company, and use many of the parts in the old firechicken. An LS2 firechicken might not be too shabby, and the GTO seats are pretty nice...except they say GTO and not Trans Am on them, but hey, its better than what shes got now.

So to the question at hand: Are people still looking to buy LT1's? I saw several on Ebay ranging in price from 225 to 2200. I'd be looking to sell my LT1/T-56 combo if I were to do it. I'm very much not sure yet, but I figured I'd see what the market was like

Re: Whats the LT1 market like?

I'll hopefully be picking one up within the next year. I usually see ones that seem decent on my local craigslist going for around 900. thats just for the engine. i would probably say around 2000 for both engine and trans would be around a fair price depending on miles, mods etc. only combos i can seem to find around here are LT1 with the auto...

You could get rid of the tranny fairly quick, the lt1 may take awhile.

Re: Whats the LT1 market like?

Personally, Id buy another roller and put the LS2 in that

You already spent the time and money on a successful LT1 swap. Why do it all again to the same car when you could have 2 cars at just the cost of the roller on top of the 2nd swap
