Tuning your LS1

What are people using to tune your LS1? Mine has a base tune on it, with VATS removed, unsure of what else was done to it. I'm thinking about getting a DiabloSport tuner so that I can make adjustments as I drive it.

Do you have someone program your PCM via LS1Edit for you? If so, who did you go to? Did you have to ship your PCM?

Re: Tuning your LS1

My recommendation, albeit a slightly expensive one, is to buy HPTuners. I dont own it, yet.. But I have had a chance to play around with it on my car and others. Its a very user friendly, yet very thorough program. I think a lot of if not most of the good tuners use it as their software.

They have a forum on their site, with LOTS of tech help as well as tuning help as well as tuning bins that you can download and use on your car. Plenty of info... check them out.

Re: Tuning your LS1

wow... yea, that's a bit pricey, but then again, it's only about $150 more than a DiabloSport tuner, and WAY better options wise. I may see about getting my buddy with his LS1 swapped RX7 to go in halves with me, or something.

Re: Tuning your LS1

I went with efilive at the time It was the only one who could verify some tables where there. and it had a few other things I liked at the time. then I went to the board sponser on ls1tech and talked to him and got a killer deal at the time.

I really wanted tunercat but moates is the only way to get the true program and tuner cat does not come with a scan tool

efi live here as well, have had no issues useing it. Hptuners is great as well both basicly the same just small differences here and there. Both will accomplish what you are trying to do. I myself prefer efi live but its really up to you. If you go to efi's website they have a free trial down that you can try out and see how the more intensive tuners are.
