use stock alternator with lt1 swap?
i have the lt1 bracket but the engine didnt come with an alternator and i just repalced mine so i was wondering if i could use the stock cs130 from my thirdgen on the lt1 bracket? I never checked cause i was just gonna buy a cs130d but its the end of the project and funds are running low.

Re: use stock alternator with lt1 swap?
If you are referring to the alternator used on the factory serpentine setups, then no. The mounting ears are staggered. Any GM alternator with the mounting points straight across will work. I am using one off of an early 90s front wheel drive car. The older alternators used on the v belt cars fits in the LT1 brackets. You will have to swap pulleys. I put one on a friends truck not long ago. It is an LT1 swap in an old truck.
