95lt1 w/700r4 in a 85 TA
Just like it says. I have a mech speedo so that should not be the problem. I would like to swap out the gauges at a later time though with an elec. speedo. If I delete the tranny codes from the pcm it should work for now right? Will the 4l60e make all this alot easier? I know i need a 93 throttle body to make the 700r4 work, or least just by the bracket for the kick down cable.

Get a 4L60E, grab a gauge cluster from an '87+ Trans Am/Formula and the dash wiring harness will give you an electric speedometer.

You need these:
1. 93 throttle body but you may have to swap IAC's on it
2. 93 throttle bracket
3. A tune with Tranny trouble codes turned off
4. 95 4L60E VSS
5. 95 4L60E Reluctor pressed on the output shaft
6. TCI vacuum switch
7. Vacuum lines and maybe an additional relay for the TCI vac switch
8. 93 TV cable or maybe the TCI TV cable eliminator kit
9. Maybe 4L60e rear housing
I think I still have parts 3, 4, 5, 6,7, 8, and 9. If you consider going the 700r4 route, I would sell them parts at a "used" price. I recommend the 4L60E though.

So back when I ordered parts, I managed to get the right throttle body (93) but didn't think about the bracket. How in the world do you find one of those? Searching the local junk yards and the internet hasn't been too fruitful...
Also, why a 93 TV cable? I thought (and may be wrong) leaving the one in my IROC as is and connecting it to the 93 throttle body would work out. Is that incorrect?

I am working on my project slower than molasses oozes from a jar in Alaska....

A 93 TV cable, so it fits into the 93 throttle bracket. If you can get any other tv cable to work then thats ok too.
