'93 LT1 wiring

i've been looking at shbox for some help, but still have questions.

1.does the '93 engine harness have a a/c evaporator temp sensor?

2. i have 3 pulgs near the ECM plugs, one is the c100, another is the a/c pressure sensor, and one more...it's not a c105 b/c i think '93 didn't have it, and it only has 2 green wires?

3. my c100 is a 10 pin as normal, but there is a stand-alone pin hanging from the same group of wires at the c100 plug, what is this for?

4. what do i do with the EGR solenoid if its deleted?

5. what do i attach the Oil level sensor to...my car doesn't have a oil light?

thanks.

Take a look here...

I'm guessing that you have a 93 f or y body....

Looks like B3 and C16 are a/c evap temp sensor input and ground...

If you're going to use the LT1 computer...

then just install the temp sender from the 93 into your a/c system and use that signal into the LT1 computer.

Below is the ECM pinout drawing for 1988 (1227747). 1227747 ecm used on the 1987-92 4.3L V6 5.0-5.7L V8 Truck and Van. I don't see a temp signal...

I don't think it matters what it came with if you're using the LT1 Computer anyway....unless I'm completely misunderstanding your question.

sorry if it was confusing...i'll try to clear it up.

i have a '93 LT1 out of a camaro Z28...complete with the wiring harness and ECM.

my problem was that i had some wires that were cut on the harness and i didnt know what they went to. i used this web site to find out. the top two links are what i looked at.

http://shbox.com/1/schematics_wiring.html

they didn't include 93 for the a/c temp sensor, hence the reason for the question 1.

now, where am i supposed to put the sensor into so that the computer doesnt throw a code?

i also need the answers to the other questions if someone can help.
thanks.

what I would do...

If this was my project is get the tech manual for a 1993 LT1 so I could identify what existed on that vehicle. It would then be simpler to adapt the functions the vehicle I was working on.

From looking at the image of the website I initially sent you, it looks simple enough to identify the sensor, once you have the tech manual for the 1993, you can figure out where it went on that vehicle and make the necessary changes on yours.

thanks for the diagrams.my buddy has a GM CD that has all tech info for both the '93 and the '88 it's going in. the problem is that it's at a school 90 miles away and i'm waiting on him to go pick his stuff up...he recently graduated form TSTC in Sweetwater TX in auto mechanics.

for now, i'm just making sure i know where things are going to go. like number 5...the '93 gauge cluster has an oil light, but the '88 doesn't...is it ok to leave the oil level sensor unpluged, or will it throw a code?
thanks

I'm also swapping a '93 LT1, but into a different car.

I understand all of the wires, but I'm not sure how to wire up the relays and whatnot. What have you guys done for fuel pump, etc? I'm not a wiring guru so I'm not exactly sure how to wire in a ground into a relay, for example.

I've been looking on eBay and there are a few guys selling those LT1 conversion modules with the wiring schematics and relays already setup. Think that will work?

I'm assuming for the wires that go to the interior, such as tach signal and whatnot that I can just cut the ends off those plugs after labeling the wires and then wire up my gauges?

Thanks for the help,
Colin

CollinOpseth,
the link that i posted somewhere above has wiring diagrams.

http://shbox.com/1/fan_schematic_1995.jpg

on this link, there are 2 types...the top one is for '93 f-body (early style)
as for general info., these relays have 4 pins, just follow the wires on the diagram and see where they go. for the cooling fan relays, they are not grounded, but the fans are.

Let's try and look at a relay

I hope I can somewhat explain a relay. Let's look at the fuel pump relay on this drawing at the top. Might want to print this.

http://www.chevythunder.com/199394_l...ematic_pg4.htm

When the ignition switch is closed, power from B+(typically representing the big positive post on the starter, 12vdc positive at this point), goes thru the 15 amp fues to terminal C12 on the ECM and also to terminal C1 on the fuel pump relay.
When D7 on the ECM is energized, +12vdc now exists at C2 on FP Relay...coil on the right hand side of the FP Relay is energized because the path to ground is now completed placing 12vdc at C2 of FP Relay and completing the path to ground at A1 of the FP Relay. When the coil is energized, the top switch (on the left hand side of the FP Relay) moves to the right, and makes contact with the node which goes to A2 on the left side of the FP Relay. Notice that when that switch moves to the right a path is completed from C1 to A2---this will now provide +12vdc to the fuel pump (+12vdc comes from B+, thru ign swithc, thru 15 amp fuse, down thru C1, thru FP Relay switch which is closed now, thru A2 of FP Relay, and out to fuel pump)...fuel pump can now be energized. The other output of FP Relay A2 goes to the ECM at C20 just to let the ECM know that the Fuel Pump now has +12vdc going to it.

Hope this helps a little. If someone can explain better please feel free to do so.
