I have heard nothing but good things about Lloyd Eliot LE1 head/cam combo. They predict 370-390hp on a well tuned engine. Personally, I think thats a great gain for the $1100.

And that would give you anywhere from about 100-120hp over a stock F-body LT1.

Until you max out the stock injectors, bigger ones will gain you NOTHING. You'll need a higher flow fuel pump before you max the injectors out too, so save them until you need them. Whats your budget? That will go a long way in telling us what to recomend.

Dont waste your time or money with a larger or "ported" MAF. The stock F-body MAF is good for 450 HP or so, a B-body MAF about 400.

Same with a larger Throttle body. It will gain you zero until you have enough motor to NEED the extra air.

Good PCM tuning is an absolute must I've always used www.PCMforless.com

Generally, a good cam, headers, 1.6 rockers, and a good PCM tune will put you over 300 HP. I'll second the LE package if you have the budget for it. Also, the LE package will gain you more than an LT4 conversion will. Not that the LT4 is bad, just that you can go faster cheaper.

spend a little time over on the LT1/4 engine board at camaro z28

I am running a Lloyd LE2 combo now, but he is working another set of TFS heads for me now and I am about to go into the custom area of LTx mods... some time searching on that board will give you a good start..

As with most things, if you don't have vast amounts of cash on hand work the periphery, get the headers, throttle body, cold air intake, gears, etc.. Also remember to get the most HP out of a head/cam swap you will need these supporting mods also..

Will these cam/head packages work on a stock LT1 intake? I'm thinking about the LE1 package. Just wanted to know what all is needed to make this swap a direct bolt on. With the LE1 package will stock injectors and fuel pump be sufficient for optimal gain or will I have to upgrade? Basically what I want to know what is needed to recieve the maximum hp of 390 or are there better packages out there? Also will I need to get a PCM tune?

Thanks for the help,
Jay

You will definatly need a PCM tune. I'm not sure about the capacity of the stock injectors and fuel pump. I think at a minumum you'll need a Walbro 255 LPH pump. The stock LT1 intake will bolt up to the LE heads, but I think it may also need some port matching. Lloyd would be able to tell you for sure. Remember to add a good set of headers too, if you havent already. There are equivelent packages to the LE stuff, but it doesnt get much better for the price.

"A ported intake is worth 10-12 HP but not a "must".

you also want these parts . . . . . .

Comp 1305-16 rockers
Comp 7939-16 pushrods
7/16 studs
GM 14011051 guide plates
