overall weight with ls1/lt1

I have a couple quick questions. I have been delegating whether i would rather have my third gen with an ls1/6 spd or just outright buy a newer camaro with the ls1 and 6 speed combo. Anyone who has taken their third gen to the strip with lt1/ls1, could you give me some info on how much you weighed in with? Also, which do you think would make for a faster car without the mods...the 3rd gen ls1/6spd or the 4th gen ls1/6spd? Thanks for your input!

mine weighs in at 3550 raceweight before the T-56 with me in it. If you did the exact same mods to a 3rd gen with an LS/T1 and a 4th gen, the 3rd gen would be fast everytime because they weigh on average about 200 lbs less.
