BRAKE/CLUTCH PEDAL LUBRICATION

My '91 T/A has a very annoying noisy squeak whenever the clutch is engaged or disengaged. It is loud and sounds like a bearing or bushing has worn out and is in need of replacement, Does it require that the pedal mechanism be removed or is there a way to lubricate this to silence it? If the whole pedal mechanism needs to be removed, where do I start? I'm OK with removing all of the knee pads and other plastic parts but I am lost when it comes to the pedal mechanism. If you have done this, any hints for removal would be appreciated. BTW I do not have a lift if it requires working with one. Thanks.

Find the pivot point for the pedal, squirt penetrating oil on it. Pump pedal, see what happens.

Tried that but I could not get close enough with a spray can to saturate the area. Thanks for the reply.

I dont know how the 3rdgen clutch pedal assembly is since i went from auto to 4thgen clutch pedal that has the helper spring. Witht he under panels removed and a good flash light you have to lay on your back and you will see where/how the pedal travels. Spray a thicker lubricant on everything that moves with the pedal as its depressed.Work it in a few times and the squeak will go away...for now.

Re: BRAKE/CLUTCH PEDAL LUBRICATION

Part of my problem is acknowledging that I can no longer get under the dash to add any lubricant. Age is a bitch! I suppose I could try to build a platform to get my back over the door threshhold but that seems to be the only way to get up in that space. Thank you for the advice! Got any extra pillows I can use?
