Interior Dampness

I was washing the car yesterday and noticed that on the drivers side, some water had managed to creep inside onto the seat.

I checked the rubber seal and it seems to be in good condition except for one small part where there is an inch cut into it. It doesn't look to be a very deep cut either. I also noticed that the interior panel where the seatbelt and the rear speaker sits was also damp.

Could that be part of the rubber seal problem or is it something else too?

Re: Interior Dampness

You mean rubber weatherstripping seal at the top which the window rests against?

I know that mine would slightly leak through there and get the seat area damp. I did replace all my weatherstripping and it still slightly leaked.

If there is a crack, you may want to look into replacing the weatherstripping, but also try and check the alignment of the window with the seal.

I know that my driver's side door slightly sagged, which cause there to be a very small gap at the top. When I replaced my door hinge and realigned the striker bolt (where the door latch catches on the body), the gap was fully gone and there is no more leaking.

I do yeah. I do think it'd be a good idea to replace them, do you know where I could get a set sent to England?

I'll check the door alignment, I haven't noticed any sagging on it but I shall have a good look.

Re: Interior Dampness

I purchased mine off of 1a auto. I believe they ship outside of the US, but shipping is obviously going to be somewhat more expensive.

I found this ebay link selling the weatherstripping for the upper rail (which is the piece you are describing that is slightly damaged) and also the lower portion of the door.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Roofrail-Door-Hatch-Weatherstrip-Seals-Set-for-Camaro-Firebird-Trans-Am-Hardtop-/231167313633?fits=Year%3A1991%7CModel%3ACamaro&hash=item35d2a546e1&vxp=mtr#shpCntId
I checked, I think shipping is around 25 dollars with a 40 dollar import fee in England.

You may be able to find just the upper weatherstripping for the rails so it won't be as expensive, but shipping will still probably be around 65 dollars I'm guessing.

Edit: That link also had the hatch weatherstripping wich you probably don't need!

I just came across this one:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/82-92-GM-F-Body-Roofrail-Roof-Rail-Weatherstrip-Seals-Hardtop-RR7003-USA-MADE-/4614355399?fits=Year%3A1991%7CModel%3ACamaro&hash=item1130979c7&vxp=mtr
which is ONLY the roofrail weatherstripping. The international shipping is like 70 bucks, so it would be around 120-130 dollars overall after shipping for those pieces.
