Re: Recaro seats RESTORED!!!
Unfortunately which is why my recaros will forever remain in their worn condition. Make sure you post some in car pics, you just don't see people recovering them in the oem style very much

Re: Recaro seats RESTORED!!!
If memory serves, I think it was called Medium Doeskin (or light tan) for 82-87 then it changed to Beechwood 88-92.
It is so exact to the original paint that it was very easy to overspray since it looked so much like the original color.
I gave the pieces a bath with oxy clean, dried them, sprayed Windex to make sure all the oils were out. Then used adhesion promoter.
Paint went on very easily and dried nicely.

Re: Recaro seats RESTORED!!!
Found out it wasn't available --
So he took a laser to one of my trim pieces (the ceiling piece just aft of the TTops since it had the least amount of sun fading) and it came up with a recipie...
He mixed it, then tested it.... It was way too dark.
Then we went to the book of all colors.... Came across a color that was listed as a Chrysler color. That is it!
He mixes paints to order, very consciencious as well.

Re: Recaro seats RESTORED!!!
Just to let you know there is a difference in the tan colors from 82-87.82-84 is called doeskin and 85-87 is called light saddle. The 82-84 tan is a bit darker than the 85-87 light saddle.

P Cassin Customizing in Woodstock,IL
http://cassincustomizing.com/
Shane Cassin owns it and runs it. I think he has only another person to help him and he gets swamped with projects from Schwartz Performance quite a bit.
It was a complete restoration, front and back. I am extremely happy with the results as you can tell.
You never know what to expect but I can honestly say that Shawn Cassin exceeded my expectations!
These seats cost me BIG $$$$$ but I figure I will always, God willing, have this car.

Hey Chuck - those seats look great. I had a set done in Parella cloth and they are not cheap to do but they are worth it if they come out right. Yours look amazing.

I dont understand everyone's reluctance to tell us how much these upholstery jobs cost. Many of us out here saving to do the same thing. Would be nice to know what to budget. Helpful when getting quotes to know how competitive the shop is.
If you are worried about the "more than 1$ is too much too spend on that" crowd... Ignore those morons. Many of us understand no price is too high for quality upholstery, just want to know where the cost is these days.
The seats looks fantastic!

First off, it's my car and my money. I should care less what people think of my money spent.
These seats as many know are extremely rare to find - let alone in good condition -- so yes, it's going to cost ALOT, as it should given the demand.
I was quoted $3000, talked down to $2700.

good job on getting them down a little. I've always found you can get a 10% discount on just about anything by asking.
I'm saving to get my LS seats redone, will be the cap on a total resto. Prob pretty similar in labor to the recaros since they both have moveable leg panels and lumbar.
I think I'm going to go cheaper on materials, though, just Ultraleather, maybe with some ultra suede inserts. Yours are real leather yes?

Yes that's top of the line leather -- waaaay better than stock and way more comfortable
Back to the price issue it's hard to tell what really is a fair price with things like this
But the way I see it this is the life time investment I have no plans to sell the vehicle or the seats so I'm very happy with it and even with the price what the level of quality I received

Wow those seats came out amazing! Great job.
Side note, I stripped out my 83 'bird and had the same color interior. If you need anything shoot me a PM!
