Soo.... in the final stages of an almost full resto of an 86 Iroc.... having a hell of a time finding an original steering wheel.the previous owner replaced it with a mini grant wheel .... was able to get my hands on a steering wheel that looks alomost identical but out of a firebird, so it has the firebird horn pad... I was wondering if anyone has ever successfully put an iroc horn pad on the firebird steering wheel? they look pretty much identical other than the horn...any input is greatly appreciated!! THANKS!!

 

Bird wheels look totally different than Camaro wheels.
Give Chuck Pelton a call, and buy a refurbed wheel. You won't be disappointed with his work.

What steering wheel went with a 89 rs?

 

An 89 RS would have had the plastic wheel with the square horn. Its horrible, and we all hate that wheel.

If you need a wheel, get the 82-89 Z28 leather wrap wheel with the round horn button. Looks 100X better. Used wheels have hard leather, and sometimes loose leather. The link above is for the guy who sells rebuilt wheels at a very fair price.
