Re: New seat covers
Did you use leather or leatherette? I'm looking for a set now and was wondering about her work and trying to decide whether to pay up for leather on the seating surfaces.

Re: New seat covers
I do believe that she uses ultra leather. make sure you replace the foam in the front seats.

Re: New seat covers
How does the material "feel" compared to leather? Did you notice any discomfort in the summer due to heat vs cloth? I sent her my deposit last week but am still deciding whether to use the ultra leather or cloth. May stick with cloth for the insets at least. I like leather on my other cars but this dang Camaro is hot in the summer with all the glass. I can't imagine how it would be if the seats don't breathe.

Re: New seat covers
Did she not send you some material samples ?
Hot or not I like the Hampton Vinyl sample. Its seems to be the darkest black and strongest but I'm sure it will require a window shade on hot days.
I have a weight bench I use all the time recovered about 6 years ago and looks as good today as the day I put the black vinyl on.

Re: New seat covers
Well yes she is sending samples but i have not received them yet. By "feel" I mean does the imitation leather feel rubbery or sticky compared to genuine leather. I'm not sure I can get the feel of it against your butt for hours from just a swatch. Even on a hot day leather is more comfortable than classic vinyl. If anyone has imitation leather and has had leather in the past and would share the difference if any, I would appreciate the comparison.

Re: New seat covers
Thank you for the feedback. I read on the Ultraleather site that it was tested against leather and actually retained less heat, wore longer and held color better. I guess there's nothing like the patina of old, worn leather but it seems this material is a better choice in some respects. I even saw where one upholsterer suggested putting some leather scraps under the seat for the "leather smell" lol. Since vinyl is not the main ingredient, I like the term "synthetic leather" rather than fake of faux leather. Anyway, it should be a good choice. Thanks again.
