Tabs breaking on trim parts
I have a problem with all the plastic trim parts etc that are held in place by small tabs.
Yup, I tend to break at least one tab every time I remove the part.
Can the tabs be repaired or replaced in any way?
Most of the time you can't see the damage if the part fits tightly..
But the seatbelt trim piece on the headliner won't stay in place and a plastic scoop on the body of the car (near the front tire) flaps around.

Re: Tabs breaking on trim parts
i have found some of the needed trim parts @ Hawksthirdgen, and at local junk yards, the auto parts stores rarely have the exact part, but sometimes I get lucky. when I installed an overhead console, I took the headliner out re-installed everything & now my seat belt trim stays intact. I would advise to get a helper to hold the headliner as I did it myself & in would have been easier to have help with holding it up while I worked on it. But, it can be done solo. gather up your needed parts & then set aside time to do it. have a few extra tabs ready in case you break them while doing install. The a-pillar plastic trim & upper window plastic trim/headliner tabs have been a pain for me. Take your time, good luck

Tabs can be glued back on with Plastic weld.
If you are missing the tabs, they can be recreated with plastic weld or repair compounds for bumpers, such as SEM plastic "problem solver"

Re: Tabs breaking on trim parts
New ones? They only make a couple of new parts. Used is all you are going to get for most interior parts.

Re: Tabs breaking on trim parts
Anyway, I'll try gluing the tabs back first since new interior parts are very expensive.. I mean, I don't want to order a 40 dollar piece of plastic every time I take it off and break one of the tabs .
Unfortunately I didn't think of gluing when I just threw the broken piece away...

I've found this to be true.
