Squeaky Interior?
Hi, Im Jake. My 1992 Camaro RS has an interior thats kind of squeaky and rattly, also when i push on the breaks the dash pad likes to bounce up and down. The squeaks and rattles sound like they are coming from underneath the hatchback, does anyone know what they might be and how I can get rid of them? Thanks.

I replaced everything in my car and it still rattles like a bitch. Used little rubber washers in certain areas and it helped abit

i went through my door panels and replaced the weather stripping, new door cards, added fatmat, new door handles on the inside and outside... and it still squeaks and makes all kinds of noise.

Re: Squeaky Interior?
I'd say most noises come from the hard plastic pieces, they don't fit very well, especially in the dashboard.
I've found some thin adhesive foam that I used between the different panels. It reduced the noise quite well. Neoprene might be a good thing too.

Re: Squeaky Interior?
I battle this issue monthly with my 250k iroc.... A squeaky exhaust came from the catalytic converter touching against the brace right above it. The rattling dash is because a few screws and one Philips screw by the deforest vents was missing, another dash rattle was because on of the ducts leading to one of the two small vents closest to the windows wasn't tight to the dash. A slight transmission rattle because the speedo cable fastener on the side of the Trans came lose. A high pitched wine came from my clutch hydraulic bar thing resting against the lever that transfers the pressure to the pilot bearing (needed to be greased) the center console will instantly start rattling if one of those star key bolts loosen up. When everything in the rear isint greased up you'll get sqweeks while you drive also. Because theses cars are so old and utilize old technology EVERY little screw and bolt needs to be nice and tight. (at least in my sat it does) this spring I'm stripping the interior down completely and hitting it with some por15, dynamatt, neyoprene, and carpet with mass backing. Im so sick of all these little rattles. But a cheap fix is cranking up the stereo lol

Re: Squeaky Interior?
On my Camaro 'vert I used Dynomat to kill panel vibration. Disassembled plastic panels and used Goop on the panel fitment areas, then reinstalled the screws. I used 3M trim adhesive (yellow color) on all the screws before installing them so they'd stay tight longer. Also did the fixes to the inner door panels and used zip ties on the plastic parts hinge that link the rods.
