4-Point Harness
I am interested in purchasing a 4-point harness for my 91 camaro rs, i was wondering if you can mount it to the stock seat/seat bolts, or do i need a roll cage/racing seat.
~Thanks~

Re: 4-Point Harness
NHRA/IHRA/SCCA/etc. have rules regarding their mounting as well as the manufacturers mounting recommendations which you'll need to adhere to not only to legally use them but also to prevent them from causing more injury in the case of a wreck than if you used a standard 3-point seat belt.
From Corbeau's Install Instructions:
• Lap belts should be mounted at a 45-degree angle to the floor.
• When bolting the belts to their particular mounting locations, be sure to position the bracket in the
stress direction of the belt.
• It is strongly recommended that the shoulder harnesses be fitted as close to horizontal as possible. It is
a must that the angle of the shoulder harness does not exceed 45 degrees in relation to the theoretical
horizontal axis of the mounting points. Never anchor straight down behind the back. (See diagram for
recommended anchorage points)

its just a daily driver, just thinking about changing to a different harness for style and its around the same price...., also gonna get rid of the air bag, was thinking the harness would assist better than my 3 point, that is broke/recalled

Re: 4-Point Harness
A 4-pt without a roll bar is "unsafe". If the car wrecks & you roll over? The roof can crush then crush your head. The stock 3-pt is designed so that the body can lean forward & down to keep a person's head from being crushed.

Re: 4-Point Harness
those things were in my 1991 z28 when I got it and to be quite honest they were down right uncomfortable and i got the feeling if i were in an accident it would have lopped my head off because both shoulder leads went back to the point where the shoulder re winder went (one on each bolt) so I immediately took them out and put the factory stuff back in if you were closer you could have them they are still on the garage floor from when I took then out. Re: 4-Point Harness
aww to bad, it was just a thought that went through my head, went looking on here and am finding out alot of 4th gen stuff fits 3rd still, interior wise, so im thinking of going to a junkyard and picking up a few things, like the seatbelt and a driver/passenger seat, someone had a great looking red interior with 4th gen black leather seats, looked wicked nice, but thanks for the input man!
