Anyone use Snake Skin products?
Looking to sound proof and heat barrier the 85 and don't want to go the Dyna Matt route any more. Way too time consuming, if these Snake Skin products works as advertized. It wouldn't take too long to spray the whole inside of a Camaro, doors and all of the small spaces, if every thing was stripped out of the interior. Boop gun for undercoating cars maybe can be used or you can buy the gun Snake Skin sells to apply their products. Would be a great time saver when compared to the Dyna Matt undertaking, IMO.

Re: Anyone use Snake Skin products?
I've done some sound dampening research for my '92 Bird. Not sure what I'll end up doing. But, I'll add Lizard Skin to my list.
So far, I've dramatically lowered the decibels by adding a couple of bolt on resonators to the end of the tail pipes. They extend the tail pipes past the back bumper throwing the sound behind the car and give a deeper throaty sound to the exhaust.
FYI - I don't have an opinion on any sound dampening items, but here are some links to other sound dampening products:

If you decide to use Lizard Skin, I'd be interested in how it works for you.

I have used Dyna Matt and Nuprene sound barriers. The Nuprene sheets are what is used by Boeing in commerical airlines to kill the sound of the jet engines. Very light weight but still a PITA to work with. Dyna Matt is in a catergory all of it's own, IMO. Looks like the Lizard Skin spray on guys would be very tough to beat if the product does work as advertized.

It deff. works as advertised. its not cheap. Your talking $200 +
what sold me on it at a PRI show was they had 1/2 hotplate coated in the ceramic insulation stuff. Tossing ice cubes on both 1/2s. instant melt on the un-coated side. and took a couple min. to melt on the coated side.
They had a demo car with the sound deading also. I used both products and like it.

Dyna Matt would cost more then $200.00 in materials, to do a F body right IMO. With the spray on guy you can hit every nook and cranny in the interior. The inside of the doors will be a breeze with the spray, with Dyna Matt it is a PITA. Sounds like a much better way to go, will check it out very soon.

Liked the 2nd video, great looking Challenger in it. It will be interesting to see just how well the Lizard Skin guys work on actual road noise and real world heat barrier preformance in everyday driving.
Stripped out the 85 today getting it ready for the Lizard Skin products. There are plenty of spaces in the F body that will be shot with both products, which should make the car better to ride in. Passenger floor board needed some work with the rotary wire brush on the 1/2" drill methods to remove the little rust scale that was there. Added new seam sealer to both floorboards and hit the PS floor board with the rust encapsulator primer product.
I like to let any paint cure for 7 days before painting over so I ordered the Lizard Skin products today off the big auction site. It will be close to 7 days for the coatings to arrive so that works out well. I have to cut the t-56 trans tunnel hole and the firewall hole for the clutch setup, so I will be busy with that. From looking at the videos about the coatings sure look like the way to go IMO, just hope they work as advertizied in the real world.

F body interior floorboards: 10' X 5' = 50 sq. ft.
inside roof panel: 4' X 4' = 16 sq. ft.
1 side of F body door, A pillar, filling wheel wheels & front (to the roof panel)/back sail spaces: 16 sq ft. (?) X 2 = 32 sq ft. I might be high on this number here, but there are lots of spaces behind the doors up on the side of the F body that can be hit with the sound deadner. My estimate comes out close to 98 sq ft which is on the high side, just to be safe.
Lizard Skins web site gives the formula for coverage of their product @ sq. ft. divided by 22. Since I know my sq. ft. calculations are a little high it will come out to 4 gallons of sound deadner for the F body. Talking to the Lizard Skin team the coating thickness should be about the same as a credit card in thickness or 1/8". 2 gallons of heat barrier should work fine as the HB won't get sprayed on the sides of the F body, but the roof panel will sure get some.
I haven't seen a video yet with a decibel meter taking neasurements inside a car to show how well the product preforms,in the old before and after affects of the product scenairo. Too late for me as the 85 for this project is allready stripped down ready to go. Lots of good comments about the products which is always a good thing, IMO.
