I thought it was coming out bad until I saw the finished product - looks great! The pics after you glued it make it look wavy.

Thanks, Punish3r and 82tarecaro!

I wouldn't say it's perfect, but it's a helluva lot better than it was when I started! It's not completely straight (I'm a little surprised about that since I had the board clamped down pretty tight), but it still looks really good.

Watch for a thread from me documenting tearing down and replacing my headliner, sail panels, visors, seat belts, and t-top drip rails. I'm doing the work with a very skilled friend this weekend and I should be able to post on Monday.

Always interested in that - my car is coming back from the paint shop in a few weeks and I have to put all that back in. I am not looking forward to the weatherstrip. I just got my Soffseal stuff from Summit today, and I have to say it looks good. I matched it up to the perfect original t top weatherstrip on my TTA, and it looked very similar. I will post some pics of my progress also. Hopefully they are a good alternative to the overpriced originals.

Sounds god, 82tarecaro. I look forward to seeing the pictures. You have a TTA? Awesome! I wouldn't mind one of those! How many miles are on it?

Mav75 it looks GREAT! You did a great job. And I will take your advice and not glue my NIB console until it needs it. (ps. Slightly off the subject, but still about your interior. Do you know what your door panels are called? I have the exact one that you have, but the "deluxe" panels look flat. Ours are raised into the armrest. I need to replace mine.) Thank you and once again the console looks great......

Thanks, t-top! My t-top rehab hit a snag today. I have some great tear down pictures (half of my interior is stripped), but I had trouble unbolting the front seat belts (I'm replacing them). Plus, I didn't have the right bits for those stupid star shaped screws. So tonight I ran to Wal Mart to buy a heavy duty socket wrench and some hardware for the star screws. I hope to have a lot more done on Tuesday.

Thanks, jster! I appreciate it. It was a labor of love that had me cussing more than a few times, but it was worth it.
About your door panel question...I'm not quite sure how to answer that. I looked on http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com, and it seems like there are only two choices for the '87: with or without the map pocket. There's also a pretty significant price difference between the two. Hope that helps...

This inspired me to do mine as well. That glue is really something else.
Not the best job in the world but looks a lot better. Console is filthy but I since cleaned it all up. Will get a pic once it's all back in.

Re: Repairing warped Center Console sides. Best way?

If my efforts benefitted just one console, it was all worth it!!

Seriously, hydrolic, nice job, especially on that lid! I thought it looked like a lost cause in the before picture, but you saved it!
