Camaro Console in Firebird

I've got an 88 GTA with a butchered 4th gen console in it - looking at changing this out for a 3rd gen console. I always liked the look of the Camaro console, so I've got one of those on the way. Being an 88 GTA, the car has the "Radio Pod" that is separate from the console. My question is: What difficulties are involved in performing the swap? I found one picture on here of a Camaro console in a Firebird, and from what I can tell, the top of the console above the AC/Heat control will need to be trimmed, and I'll have an extra switch hole to fill, but are there any other problems with the mating?

You need to remove the radio pod and then trim off the lower console, the upper console, and somehow cut the heater/radio trim to fit the dash. I never got to where I cut the radio trim (and it's still in pretty good shape if I can find it). Problem with this is that there is no mounting on the dash end of the console. The radio pod has 2 bolts that screw into the front of the dash. The Camaro console has 2 bolts that go in from underneath, and the underdash panels are in the way. Oh, and you need to grab the lower heater duct as the Camaro duct is longer than the Bird one. It's held on by 2 screws.

Not to mention that it just doesn't look right, but that's IMHO.
