Help me pick a new steering wheel.
I am going t be replacing my instrument gauges with some classic dash gauges this winter. I was going to take my steering wheel off to give me room to work and was considering replacing it with one of these. Any opinions or suggestions? My car has a gray and black interior

Personally I like the Grant #1130 Collector's Edition steering wheel but the Club Sport is a good choice.

Out of those three I like the club sport the best, but personally I think the Grant Challenger series looks like it was made for third gens

Re: Help me pick a new steering wheel.
I like the Lemans but I think it would look better in a second generation. I also like the collectors edition but I think it looks too much like a stock wheel ( not aggressive enough). I like the club sport (2) but think it might be a little modern for a third gen ( actually looks like the Momo Mellenium). Keep your opinions comming. I'd love to know other options I just found the above ones and thought they looked pretty good.

Re: Help me pick a new steering wheel.
I toyed with the idea of a blue one or even a dark gray steering wheel, but my dash is all black and the seats and carpets are gray so I think introducing a third color wouldn't fit.

Re: Help me pick a new steering wheel.
Agreed. I've got an 1130 in my Camaro and I like it. Once I upgraded the horn button & ring to an aluminum piece to match the spokes it made the wheel look like a nice quality piece. Most of the grant stuff looks and feels like cheap crap, but their Collectors stuff isn't bad.

If i ever change wheels, im going with the 1130. the club sport does flow nicely with a stock dash though.

Re: Help me pick a new steering wheel.
Here is my new Grant #1130 with the polished aluminum installation kit #5196-1. I like it. This wheel is about an inch smaller in diameter than the stock wheel which makes a lot of difference for a tall guy like me even with tilt wheel.

Re: Help me pick a new steering wheel.
I read another thread and saw where one person had problems with the vynil/leather fading quickly. Anyone had any similar problems??

Tank -
I ordered the 1130 wheel and they said the 5196-1 wouldn't fit that wheel, that it was for the grant signature series wheel? But I like what you did. Does the 5196-1 fit the 1130 wheel anyhow?
thank you,
MBH

The Grant carbon fibre wheel is nice. Great feel.

Re: Help me pick a new steering wheel.
Any one notice in this months issue December 2011 of Popular Hot Rodding, on page 33 is one sweet looking '66 Chevelle sporting what looks to be a Grant 1131 steering wheel with a Bow Tie logo center cap?
