TA console repair
The console on my '89 TTA is in nice shape but it's come unglued around the to plate and is splitting open. I'd like to save this one since it has all the RPO and is in nice shape otherwise. I was thinking about using some big clamps, some wood, and windshield urethane to glue it back together. Any thoughts or tips?

I used Gorilla glue. You'll need to trim out a little bit of the foam with a razor since the glue expands a bit. Follow the directions on the bottle and dampen before gluing. I also used the clamps and wood like you mentioned. Mine turned out pretty good, but I had a dimple or two from the clamp being too tight.

I used clamps, boards to get even pressure, and JB Weld. It held up for many years.

Tried the procedures used above only with liquid nails. Needless to say, the vinyl is still separated, except now I can see the yellow liquid nails sitting in there.
