LLoyd floor mats

I'm so sick of generic floor mats wrinkling and bunching, so I just dropped $80 plus shipping on a front set of lloyd mats. I'm excited, I hear really nice things about them.

I'll post pics when I get them

ok here they are.. these things feel nice! nothing cheap about them, even a GM logo on the backside because they are authorized to use the logos and emblems

first, the old mat... typical passenger side bunching from a generic mat.

it came with these hooks to keep you met in place.. don't worry the hole you have to put in your carpet is very small, or you don't have to use the hooks at all. I hate when the carpet gets under my clutch, so I used mine

that's ok, I'm going to have a dented fender and rattlecan paint for the meet. don't have time to get it replaced and painted before may, so I'll just have to show off the "new" car for 2012

Re: LLoyd floor mats

Yea I hear ya. I planned on having my car painted since last meet. I've bought a house and another Camaro since then. My original Camaro is still primer gray. Hope to be taking the newer Camaro(newer to me) to the meet but I need to get a shift kit and flywheel soon. One of the two will make it.

Re: LLoyd floor mats

Heads up to everyone... very disappointed with the color of my new mats. When I ordered them for my 87, there was only one grey choice, grey #140. If you select 'more colors' you are presented with 'euro grey'. I assumed the recommended grey would be the closest they had for my year car. Looking at the little sample colors on their site You be the judge:

{ Update - Spoke with Lloyd's marketing dept and they are working with me to correct this matter. I ordered them from Chevy Mall and the Mall will charge me 15% restocking, plus I lose my shipping and have to pay to ship them back. Not happy with them even though the color thing isn't really their fault. Pretty satisfied with the level of concern from Lloyds though. }

I can't even use these. They look like severely sun-faded original floor mats to me.

Re: LLoyd floor mats

yeah, I knew there was different shade of grey for the carpet. Scroll up to the pics of my carpet. that's not even close to the color of yours.

Your floor mats look like they would look fine in a car with the same color of carpet as mine (which is not faded, that's a factory color)

Re: LLoyd floor mats

What color is that called? When I ordered my carpet, I used http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/carpet.aspx and they only listed one grey (Dove Grey) and it is an exact match. For 89 that is the only 'grey' color listed as well. Your color looks more like Med Doeskin. I'm pretty sure that is what you have and these mats look almost tan next to the blueish/green of my carpet.

Re: LLoyd floor mats

it might be the medium grey. I don't know, I didn't buy it. I can't swear it's even a factory correct color for that year.

I can't find a doeskin example, but it also might be medium grey

If you think they sent you something different than what you were expecting to get based on color samples from the website, send it back

Re: LLoyd floor mats

by the way. I know the floor mats I bought don't look at that hot with the grey carpet, but I knew matching the carpet would be impossible, so I decided to go Black with light grey instead of grey with a different shade of grey. Does that make sence?

If I replace my carpet ,I'll go a shade darker,or all the way to black anyway

Re: LLoyd floor mats

So I spoke to Doug at Lloyd's and I'm pretty pleased with his level of concern. I ordered them from Chevy Mall and I'm not too impressed with that situation. For $160 I expected the color to be right, especially from an officially certified Chevy parts provider. They told me I could send them back but I'd lose shipping (plus pay return shipping and a 15% restocking fee! Ouch. But Lloyds has promised to make things right, so that's pretty cool.

I agree with ZZ3 astro.
I ordered a set of Lloyds 4 piece set grey for my 92 Z28 and I have the same problem. When they are installed they almost look white against the grey carpet. I am going to contact Lloyds and try to send them back and see if they will send me some samples.

Astro - Yeah, I agree. The color is too far off. I'm surprised they're charging you the restocking fee. But, these are the best mats out there. I bought a set for my 2001 Corvette and they fit and look great. Once my Firebird gets closer to being complete I'm ordering Lloyd's. Until then, Wal-Mart floor mats. Sad, but true.

Re: LLoyd floor mats

++++++1111 for Lloyds. The Chevy Mall wanted to stick it to me for restocking and all shipping costs. I contacted Lloyds directly and explained the situation. They promptly sent out samples and I was able to get a match that I can live with. No restocking fees, no additional shipping. Now that is service!

No matter what, if you have grey carpet make sure you have them send you free samples to match it up. Lesson learned.

Re: LLoyd floor mats

I guess I'm happy with the fact that the ones I bought from Eckler's are exact replica's in shape and size of the factory originals. They even have the passenger floor contour built in to the mat. The color doesn't look to be exact in the picture, but they are perfect colorwise.

they do seem a bit shorter than the lloyd mats

is the drivers side shaped the same as the lloyds mat?

Re: LLoyd floor mats

Nope. The drivers side is shaped the same as factory. Again, the picture makes the new one look larger than the original, but the second picture shows that they are the same size. The black was sent to me as a sample and then I had gray ones done to match without the Camaro logo. The gray mats in these photos are the factory originals. The gray mat in the above post was the new mat. I use the black ones when I drive the car and the gray ones get set on top at shows. No matter hard you try to keep gray clean, the dirt discolors it. My new mats will hopefully not look like the gray below any time soon!

Re: LLoyd floor mats

yeah, I think that's a cleaner style than the lloyd mat, but for $80 or whatever I paid I like them for now

Someday I might use that style

are these the ones you got? I thought about those, but since they dont show the shape of them, I didn't want to risk it

Re: LLoyd floor mats

Yes that is the part number. I sent them a request asking them to update the picture to be more representative of the actual shape. I'm also surprised at the price they want for these. I paid $70 for mine, but $100 is quite high. I'm sure others have the ACC mats for less. Just be sure to ask them if the passenger side is contoured.

Re: LLoyd floor mats

Bumping this.

Mark, what series are the mats (Classic Loop, Heavy Plush, etc.)? I have some of the Lloyd's mats in my Mustang which I absolutely love, and I'm pretty sure they are from Lloyd's heavy plush series, even though I paid $100 for the set of 4, same as these RS ones you have go for on ebay. However, the ones on ebay say they are from the Classic Loop series.

Are yours Classic Loop? I want the same thing as what's in my Mustang, but the ebay ones aren't returnable which sucks. I'll be disappointed if what I get isn't what I'm expecting.

I'm thinking classic loop, but I'm not 100% sure. I'll go out today and see if I can find a tag on them that marks them

Cool, I'd appreciate it. You wouldn't happen to know the name of the ebay seller you bought them from, would you?

I'd like to get these before Car Craft Summer Nationals, which is a month from today.

Re: LLoyd floor mats

I really don't care for carpeted floor mats, so I bought these black rubber ones from Modern Day Muscle. I like them because I can just hose them off when they get dirty.

Re: LLoyd floor mats

I have found that the Lloyd's mats fade really quickly. Has anyone had the same experience? When I got mine they were originally charcoal (dark grey) but now they have a greenish color to them.

Re: LLoyd floor mats

flap or not, they look like they are contoured well. Nice purchase.

If my carpet looked better I would use floor mats to protect the carpet, but then remove them for car shows

Yeah, they're heavy, but not stiff, so they just lay in there and kinda mold to the floor.

Thanks, do they have the rubber nubs on the back to keep them in place or is it just smooth rubber?

I wish I knew what the deal was here, I can get the stang ones all day long for $100 so I can't imagine that the Camaro ones for $100 aren't the same, but that seems to be the case. Unfortunately I can't get the mats from Lloyd's directly, I have to go find some random third party vendor and custom order them but then the price goes beyond $200 for what I think are what I have in the Mustang. Our aftermarket sucks.

TBH it's kind of a turn off to even bother trying to get some, especially since the current ones on ebay can't be returned.

Re: LLoyd floor mats

After reading this thread I went for a set of these mats on Ebay by carstuff4sale ..... $99.00 plus 13.00 ship for front and rear ...... I live real close to Lloyds so they went out yesterday and I got them today.

They fit great and I like the carpet ... it's Classic loop black. Just like they sell them on ebay.
