1982 Camaro Dash Pad Differences??
Is there something different about the dash pad in my 82 Z28 versus later cars.... I was in a 90 RS at my shop the other day and noticed not only are the switches and dash missing the sharp lines like my 82 but the upper dash pad was more rounded too... I was looking to replace or have just dashes restore my cracked dash but I saw the repop ones that say for 82-92.. But I want this to be a CORRECT repair as this car only has 61,000 on it now... ye all knowledgeble ppl please tune in.

The '82 and '83 dashes are different than the later ones.

1984 went to more rounded, sloped front edge. The 82-83 dash is going to be tough to replace with a correct dashpad. You may want to see if an upholstery shop can repair the one you have.

Yup, there are no new replacements out there that I've seen. The steering wheel is also different on the '82-'83 Z/28's. The spoke at the 6:00 position has a line running through it, on '84-'89 that spoke is flat.

Yep, thats what I was afraid of. So I guess I will let Just Dashes re-do my original. Ive never had experience with them... so any input on the quality of their service would be more than welcome....
And yeah I already notice the steering wheel being different... but my Z has the NK3 Sport wheel with the steel center and leather wrap.. I need to have the leather redone bc its gotten stretched and loose and the paint on the steel is peeling a little... Does anyone know a place that restores these kind of steering wheels?
THANK YOU ALL FOR YOU INPUT, KEEP IT COMING AND I WILL RETURN THE FAVOR.
