How to remove headlight adjustment knob?

How to remove headlight adjustment ****?
I've read in a few different places that you're supposed to open up the little panel that the fog light switch would typically go on, and press up on a small button with a screwdriver while pulling out on the ****. Can anybody verify the validity of this?
Here is a picture of the button:
I tried pressing it and pulling on the ****, but it doesn't budge.
Yes, I've tried pulling pretty hard to the point where it feels like its going to break. Any other ideas?

Pull the headlight switch all the way out, and use small screwdriver to push metal v clip towards you while pulling **** towards you.
