Put in headliner myself or take it somewhere...
I have already tried one. It didn't fit. I'm a little nervous to try the second one on my own. How much could I expect to pay to have someone else do it.

Take it to a bodyshop and see what they say. I've never done one so i do not know. However i plan on doing it myself this winter...

Good luck. My reasoning for taking it somewhere is simply because I do not know what to do if I run into some sort of obstacle because I do not have any experience with interior work. And the headliner is expensive.

there are some guides on installing them online. I have never installed one but I say give this one a look and see if you think you can do it. The one I will put down has a bunch of pictures and good descriptions.

Yeah that guide was pretty sweet. The first one I got was a bit warped with holes that did not line up correctly, so I am anticipating the possibility again. And I know I don't have the experience to work around that.

You're talking about buying an entire new board as well, the ABS molded plastic one? I installed that myself about a month ago, and it turned out just fine. If you know how to work a screwdriver, and at least understand how the interior is put together a little bit, you should do okay.

I did mine a few years back with good results. I had the old board recovered and reinstalled it. Had to find all of the holes for visors and other stuff. If you don't feel comfortable poking holes in that new piece then hire it out, but, if you take your time, and think it out, you can end up with nice results and the satisfaction of doing it yourself.

I re-fiberglassed mine and glued new headliner fabric to it. peace of cake. you can totally do it yourself. buying fabric and 3m glue was like 25 bucks then 20 more on a fiberglass kit at autozone.

I put a new ABS headliner in my T-top car a few years ago. The fit was about as good (and bad) as people have said. The installation wasn't too bad, but I made my first trip to a chiropractor a few days later because of my first-ever back pain. You'll have to twist into some uncomfortable positions while getting it in. Happily, I haven't had any more back problems since then, so it must have been a pulled muscle or something like that. Hurt like a mother, though.

if your car is a HT then doing a HT liner is no effort. the only "finished" edge is the front ar the drivers glass. a T top has 3 finished edges and is a good amount of effort.
the hardest part of a T top is the bends over the occupant. this is where you have to understand how folds work. when you pull the tops off you dont want to see backing board so you want to make sure the material covers the board to the backside by atleast an inch. the corners are hardest, this is where knowing how folds work.once you get it folded over in the corners it'll work with you.
you want to start from the middle of the board and work outward, this will work the material and makes sure you end up with enough material to cover everything.
