Steering column swap. What works?
I have a 1985 Chevy Camaro IROC-Z28. 305 TPI 700R4.
My steering column is very wobbly and somewhat uncontrollable while driving. I have acquired a full unit from an 88 or 89 pontiac formula 350, appearing very similar except for the actual steering wheel (I plan to keep the chevy wheel). I haven't yet removed the column from my car, but looking at the donor column it appears to be 5 total bolts and not very difficult. Before I attempted the swap, I was hoping to determine for sure whether or not my donor pontiac steering column will be a direct match for my IROC.
And if anyone has swapped columns before, I'd appreciate any forewarnings or difficulties I may encounter.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Steering column swap. What works?
Any thirdgen steering column should interchange. You just want to be sure that the options on the headlight stalk are the same, otherwise you'll need to swap all of that over. Likewise, your ignition will need to swap over.
But... you can repair the one you have very easily. This problem is very common and fairly easy to fix. Do a search for "tilt joint loose" or something similar and you'll get a million threads that explain how to fix it. Fixing your column is easier than swapping columns once you take into account all of the crap that you might have to swap over (headlight stalk, ignition, etc).
