Interior wiring harness

Ok, I bought a 92 RS 305, auto and the speedo and odometer didn't work. I replaced the speed sensor and that didn't fix the problem. I started poking around under the dash and noticed what looks to be an alarm system cut and spliced into all the wiring under the steering wheel. Do you guys believe I should just replace the dash harness or try to fix it? It's pretty jacked up as is. Also, if anyone has a good harness, I want it. Thanks.

This probably isn't the answer you're looking for, but MY Speedometer/Odometer didn't work either. The Cable was against the Exhaust pipe. Replacing the Cable Might be an easy fix for ya. As far as the wiring harness, if you're that ambitious, you should do it. In a 92 there's bound to be a heaping Crapload of wires though.

Re: Interior wiring harness

BTW, To keep my Speedo cable from leaning against the exhaust pipe again, i zip tied it to the Fuel line along the body. I know that seems like a Cheesy fix, but it really doesn't look bad. In Fact, you can't even see it unless you are underneath the car.

You got that right. I'm assisting in that job now. This is me rebuilding the harness for the gauges for an 87 Berli (non-digital). The original harness - all of it - was removed and replaced with a Painless harness. I found the original connectors in the mess of wires that was the original, cut them out, then found the corresponding color-coded wires in the spaghetti mess to reattach with solder and shrink tube. The same has to be done with some other connections before they get spliced into the Painless (I hate that name ) harness.
