How do i get my center console out ?

I need some help with my 91 5 speed center console. I have all the screws out but i need to get the Emergency brake in the straight up postion to lift the console out . Is there something i can do to the e brake from the inside to get it in that postion ?

You dont need to get the ebrake straight up. Just pull it up as far as it will go then lift the back of the console up first till the ebrake is clear. Atleast thats how Ive always done it.

I second this. I've never had to remove the e-brake. ESPECIALLY not with a 5 speed. Much easy to maneuver around that then the auto shifter. You do however need to take the leather wrapped handle off the e-brake. Should be one small Philips screw holding it on.

I got a 90 with a 5 speed i just pull the four bolts that hold it to the floor after pulling the shifter panel and all that. and I never have had to pull off the handle on the shifter only thing is watch out for the plastic breaking from age but its simple just pull back as far as you can get it and lift back and slip handle threw the hole.

I'm pretty sure that even with a 5 speed, you definitely have to pull the shift ****. Unless you know a super special way to get the boot above said handle...
